You will be part of a Nordic organization in a newly formed team dedicated to developing data infrastructure, applications, and services, which will support colleagues in both Reserving Nordic and Capital Modelling. You will receive a great deal of personal responsibility together with broad opportunities to learn and expand your knowledge.
As a data engineer in Reserving Nordic, you will be part of a Nordic team with colleagues in Denmark, Sweden, and Norway. We collaborate across borders and prioritize a shared data infrastructure together with shared tools and processes. In Reserving Nordic we are currently 21 actuaries and we are responsible for Tryg’s reserves which are approximately 50 bn. DKK.
Your primary focus will be designing, building, and maintaining the data infrastructure for timely and accurate analysis within Reserving Nordic and Capital Modelling. The data infrastructure supports the calculation of reserves, capital requirements, in-depth data analyses, and collaboration with stakeholders within Tryg.

As a data engineer, you will have a key role in building our data architecture, data pipelines and ensuring accuracy and completeness which will bring Reserving Nordic and Capital Modelling to the next level. Additionally, you will
- Work with actuaries to identify data requirements and develop appropriate solutions
- Develop and maintain data quality control processes
- Build and maintain data pipelines to ensure data is processed efficiently and timely
- Develop and maintain documentation of data infrastructure and processes
- Work with the IT team to ensure data security and compliance
- Participate in regular meetings with the actuarial teams to provide technical expertise and guidance
- Implement continuous integration and deployment processes for the team’s data projects
- Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code
- Get the opportunity to apply innovative approaches
- Collaborate and share knowledge with other engineers and colleagues

About you | Let your passion for data and development come into play
To succeed in the role we imagine that you have:
- An BSc/MSc degree in Computer Science, Information technology, or engineering
- Experience with database design, implementation, and optimization which includes writing high-quality code
- Experience with SQL and database management systems such as SQL Server or Oracle
- Knowledge of Python and dbt
- Strong understanding of ETL processes
- Familiarity with cloud-based data storage and processing
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Passion for learning new tools, languages, and workflows
- You communicate fluently in English, and preferably also in a Scandinavian language, both verbally and in writing
- Familiarity with actuarial concepts and the insurance industry is a plus
