Do you want to frame and implement automated solutions for our core production processes? Are you excited about the possibility to drive changes and introduce new technology? Then you might be our new Process Automation Engineer The position As the demand for products filled in Biotech and Rare Disease, Aseptic Production is exceeding all expectations, we are ramping up on production capacity. Therefore, we are investing in new production lines to support the demand while focusing on improving existing production facilities - and thereby also recruiting improvement professionals to ensure the best possible conditions and support for this journey. Your overall objective is to identify improvement opportunities and optimize our production by developing automated solutions with traditional automation skills, robotics, and digitalization. You will be responsible for the implementation of prototypes and solutions within processes that today are handled manually. In this role some of your main tasks will be:
  • Continuously seek improvements and think outside the box on manufacturing technologies and innovation.
  • Increase production efficiency, equipment reliability, and system performance on a constant basis.
  • Lead and drive process improvement activities for the Process Excellence Team.
  • Provide support for troubleshooting on complex technical issues and find sustainable optimization solutions.
  • Plan and execute the above activities from the test plan to successful production handover, working closely with AP operations, colleagues in other development areas, and external stakeholders.
    • The work takes place in close collaboration with the rest of the team, where the working environment is dynamic, social, and informal, and emphasis is placed on humour, commitment, and unity in a busy everyday life. Cooperation will therefore be paramount, and we need someone who is motivated by being a team player. Qualifications To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate should meet the following qualifications:
  • Hold a MSc or BSc degree in Engineering or a related field, with full professional proficiency in English.
  • Possess 2-5 years of experience in process optimization, automation, robotics, or digitalization, with a Continuous Improvement mindset and Green Belt Certification.
  • An innovative mindset and like to build technical and digital solutions.
  • Possess exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to identify improvement opportunities in partnerships with operations and navigate multiple stakeholders and interests.
  • Possess and data-driven decision-making skills and understand the importance of letting data speak.
    • Experience in working in a GMP regulated industry is considered an advantage. As an individual you are positive, corporative and solution orientated, and you work systematically, logically, and proactive. You can interact and communicate at all levels of the organization, and you take pride in solving your tasks and challenges as close to the process with close involvement of your key stakeholders. About the department The department BRD AP Operational Excellence is a newly established department, in the Aseptic Production VP area. The team Process Excellence was established along with the department. The objective of the team is to Improve process & equipment reliability for core processes and systems to meet all customer, business & regulatory requirements through the following activities: People Focus, Process Focus, Equipment Focus & Standards. Working at Novo Nordisk Our team is part of the BRD Finished Products Gentofte and Vaarloese area that is the production site situated close to Copenhagen. Here we are app. 620 colleagues who take responsibility for transforming Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients into the finished product that patients can use all over the world. We are producing at full speed on existing lines while building and ramping up new state of the art facilities. Our complex processes require a high level of expertise, commitment, and engagement from our employees and include formulation, filling, freeze-drying, product inspection, assembly and pack.
