We're looking for a skilled R&D Manager to lead and develop the R&D function at Junckers A/S.

Background
Junckers A/S is Europe's leading manufacturer of solid wood flooring for the sports, residential, and commercial segments. The brand and products are well-known worldwide, distributed through our own sales organizations in seven countries, as well as through agents and dealers in over 30 countries across Asia, the Middle East, and Europe.

In addition to high-quality wooden floors, Junckers also specializes in the development and production of oils and lacquers for the treatment, care, and maintenance of floors and other wood-based products. Our range of oils and lacquers caters to DIY enthusiasts, professionals, and industrial applications on parquets and planks in our production of Junckers wooden floors.

To support and facilitate an ambitious international growth strategy, Junckers are focusing on product strategy and development, including revitalizing and commercializing the R&D management and setup.

To lead and execute these initiatives, we are seeking an experienced R&D Manager with strong competencies in R&D Management, processes, tools and development.

The Position
As the new R&D Manager, you will lead and develop the R&D activities, operations, and department (at present 3 FTE), driving innovation for new products, optimizing and modifying existing products, and managing a wide range of internal and external R&D projects.

The primary focus of product innovation and development will be on lacquers and oils, while efforts related to wooden floors will primarily involve project management and process optimization.

Your key responsibilities will include:

Overall responsibility for implementing the R&D strategy, setting goals, objectives, and priorities related to innovation, technological advancements, and product development.
Implementation and driving of R&D processes and tools, particularly within project management, innovation processes, and resource allocation (budget, technology, personnel, etc.).
Oversight and management of daily operations and projects in the R&D department, including close cooperation with external stakeholders for lacquers and oils.
Identification and management of potential risks and opportunities associated with R&D activities, such as compliance with regulatory changes and standards, forecasting bottlenecks in raw material supply, and monitoring industry trends and technological developments in order to be at the forefront as much as possible.
Leading and executing projects for product innovation and development from concept to commercialization, including close monitoring of progress and critical deadlines.
Collaboration with other departments to align R&D projects with company strategy and commercial goals.
Monitoring and evaluation of R&D performance, providing regular updates to senior management.
Cooperation with production regarding ongoing development and adaptation of lacquers used on Juncker's finished wooden floors.
Ensuring the integration of sustainability into our products and processes.
Acting as the representative for the environmental group.

The Candidate
The ideal candidate is a highly skilled R&D Manager, preferebly with experience from the chemical industry or similar.

You have a proven track record from a similar role, with a strong focus on developing and implementing R&D processes and tools. You have practical experience in leading projects aimed at improving product performance, quality, and durability, and you are comfortable using relevant software tools.

You are well-versed in the basic aspects of product development including research, formulation, testing, analysis, raw material selection, documentation, reporting, QA, QC, and regulatory compliance.

You possess good leadership and management skills, and you are accustomed to collaborating closely with stakeholders and teams both internally and externally. You have strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, the capacity to translate technical knowledge into strategic and practical applications, and a high level of creativity and passion for innovation.

Relevant education at minimum at BA-level and advanced proficiency in both written and spoken English and Danish or Swedish are required.
