Hillerød

Do you enjoy developing automated equipment for high volume medical device manufacturing – with all the collaboration and discovery that goes with it? Are you ready to take part in driving a development project all the way to production? And would you enjoy going to work every day knowing that your results make a difference for patients around the globe? Then join our highly skilled Plastic Processing Team and take the next exciting step in your career! The position As our new Automation Engineer, your focus will be on developing the new equipment that handles, inspects or decorates the moulded plastic components for future devices or improvements in the established production. This could be a vision system that automatically inspects the part quality or an automated decoration station that handles, laser engraves, and quality inspects a scale drum component with printed numbers that the patient will use to set the right dose on a medical device. You will translate the product requirements into machine requirements and drive the equipment development at our sub-suppliers. This process includes design reviews and approval testing (FAT, SAT) before the equipment is transferred from the supplier to be validated at one of our global moulding sites. This position offers a high level of collaboration across the organization. Technicians and process supporters in the production lines will get you a hands-on angle on your project, device development will provide insight in the “why” behind the product specifications, and from your colleagues in Quality Assurance you will get all the support you need to meet regulative standards in your results – just to name a few of the many places where your face will quickly become familiar. About the department You will be joining a team of 15 dedicated colleagues in the Plastic Processing team in the Device Manufacturing Development area in Hillerød. We develop the equipment and processes that transform great new Medical Device designs into actual products for our patients, bridging the gap between the development departments and the Injection Molding production sites. In this group you will be working closely together with our three other equipment engineers specialized in robot handling of parts, Injection moulding machines and part decoration. We enjoy sharing our knowledge, and we are eager to get to know you and learn from you. If you appreciate collaboration in a creative and ambitious environment, you will feel at home with us. Qualifications You likely have:
  • Minimum a bachelor’s degree, but preferably a Master’s degree or PHD in Automation, Mechanical Engineering or a similar technical background.
  • Preferably 3+ years of experience with developing equipment for high volume manufacturing. You could also be an experienced Senior Engineer.
  • Experience with planning and executing development project of high-volume equipment for part decoration or inspection (URS, DQ, FAT, SAT).
  • Experience in using advanced vision as a quality barrier and inspection tool.
  • A systematic approach to documentation.
  • Potentially experience from an international organization or consultant role, preferably in the medical industry. We hope that you already know your way around the many requirements within regulated production setups including GMP and Validation, but if not, you will receive relevant training.
  • Great communication skills and stakeholder Management skills. You enjoy sharing your knowledge, providing support for your colleagues when they need it.
  • Technical proficiency in English in speech as well as in writing. If you understand Danish, your job will probably be easier, but it is not a requirement.
