The Platforms help enable Maersk’s vision to be the Global Integrator of container logistics, connecting and simplifying customers’ supply chains. Additionally, the team creates the foundation to integrate data, systems and processes, powered by scalable digital Infrastructure and APIs.
The Platform Director for Decarbonization Data has the responsibility to transform how emissions data is used and embed decarbonization objectives in our daily transactions to enable our teams to make effective decisions and to provide the breadth of Maersk with actionable insights. You will also be initiating the hiring and developing the best Product Managers in the industry and overseeing the development of multiple innovative software products to create an industry-leading customer experience that will delight our customers around the world.
Responsibilities
- Own and drive extensive cross platform coordination to source both data that currently exists and work to create new data through software and/or hardware development including writing requirements for additional data collection that promote a positive end user experience
- Maintain communication channels with senior stakeholders to provide clarity on objective, roadmaps and status of various programs and initiatives
- Understand the problem space by connecting with end-users and stakeholders stretching from Energy Sourcing, to Ocean, Air, Terminal Operations, Warehousing and Land Logistics
- Define the product vision and ensure roadmap and future ideas lead to realizing the vision
- Preparing product ideas, pulling together information on the business need, problem to be solved, and intended value realization
- Define and drive development in the product area from the capacity of product owner in a scrum team
- Support a team of talented data engineers to improve define, develop, deploy cycle, validate cycle and build a world-class data product
- Own and manage product backlog which provide clarity and foresight for development team
- Oversee creation a of a common data model aligned with industry standards that can be shared across all Maersk operations, applications and data sources
- Explain data sourcing, cleansing and management solutions to the business product owners
- Write dataset product specifications, describe feature stories, write acceptance criteria
- Track the success of a given data product line for our business product owners with KPIs
- Manage and refine data within the taxonomy - identifying and correct any gaps and collisions
- Seamlessly integrate new and evolving content into the current taxonomy for use in global markets
- Working with the Decarbonisation Standards team, establish and run data quality checks and alerts with full data lineage and data governance processes
Qualifications
- 8+ years of software product management/product marketing experience, preferably in a fast-paced online environment
- Experience in defining, driving and shipping data platforms/products in a regulated environment e.g., banking, exchanges, energy trading is a plus
- Experience in driving high visibility company-wide programs on a global scale with high degree of ambiguity
- Proven ability to weave together business strategy, data and technology into products that users love
- Experience at an efficient agile shop essential
- Proven ability to tell a story with data and to communicate complex concepts to a variety of audiences and stakeholder types
- Experience successfully influencing multiple cross-functional teams to deliver products and projects on tight deadlines
