You’ll be joining a team of talented and passionate academics, traders, and industry experts in Maersk Oil Trading, located in a handful of offices around the world – from New York and Singapore to Rotterdam and Copenhagen. Maersk Oil Trading is the world’s largest commercial buyer of marine fuel, focusing on innovation and setting new industry standards. Maersk Oil Trading is playing a pivotal part in Maersk’s NetZero targets and driving the transition to sustainable fuels is central to our decarbonization strategy.
We offer a vibrant, innovative, fast paced yet flexible and informal environment where we value teamwork, personal drive, and creativity. We expect you to work up 20 hours per week and we are flexible regarding how you can distribute your hours throughout the week. During the holiday period from June to August, we would like you to work up to 37 hours per week. This is of course agreed in advance based on individual wishes.
Qualifications/Skills
We are looking for someone who
- Is curious and creative with a genuine interest in trading & analysis
- Has an analytical mindset and ability to work with large amounts of data and complex tasks
- Is ideally a super user of Microsoft Office Excel
- Has good presentation- and interpersonal skills
- Is comfortable working in an international environment and able to adapt to changes in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
- Is fluent in English, both written and spoken
Primary responsibilities include:
Market Analysis
- Daily/Weekly market price reporting and analysis
- Window deals summary
- Vessel tracking
- Supply & Demand model for the European Market
Mapping:
- Suppliers, Traders, Products, Tanks & Refineries
Admin/data entry
- Assist in Improving and maintaining MOT trading tools, e.g., hedging files and contact sheets
- Assist in handling data and updates from “Bunker Operations” and “Bunker Supply Planning”
- Update forecast sheets for various trading books
- Enter-/update trades, investigate discrepancies
- Assist in communication between Front Office and other MOT departments, e.g. Credit-, Compliance-, Operation-, Settlement team.
- Optimize and clean 3rd party business files
- General process optimization
BD/Ad-Hoc
- Assist fuel traders in development of business cases
