At 3shape, our purpose is to make efficient and seamless experiences for our dental users and their patients. We provide innovative tools and collaborative workflows for the global community of dental professionals.Central to our business is the TRIOS product, which is our intra-oral 3D scanner that makes a digital representation patient’s teeth in minutes without any radiation or discomfort. The digital data is used for continuous monitoring and diagnostics, and to treat the patient with e.g. crowns that are digitally designed using AI and either 3D-printed or milled.Behind the scenes, the technology is amazing and complex. Yet, for the dental professionals, the tools and workflows must be simple and easy to learn to ensure efficient daily work and accurate digital impressions.For the TRIOS Discovery team, 3shape is looking for an experienced User Researcher to join a diverse team of software engineers, hardware engineers, and product managers. The team’s main purpose is to chase the next big thing within intra-oral scanners in digital dentistry. This is key for ensuring 3shape’s leading position within high-end scanners in an explosively growing and highly competitive market.Your will:
  • Drive discovery activities such as observational studies, co-creation, developing and testing hypotheses, ideation and creative concept development, problem definition and root cause analysis, investigations of technologies, trends, and competitors. You will be involved in the early phases of a design process before projects take shape, where the status quo must be challenged, and hundreds of new ideas will emerge.
  • Work in close collaboration with the Discovery team and to make sure that the concepts emerge from the sweet spot between business, technology, and humans.
  • Gather insights from other teams to ensure that continuous discovery is collected and fed back into the Discovery team.
  • Be a part of a cross-organizational UX team that ensures alignment of UX across our products and services by offering sparring, reviews, and design guidelines to project teams. The UX team also works to increase UX awareness and competences in 3shape.

  • Experience within UX, design thinking, and unknown unknowns: competitive analysis, user research, problem discovery, identification of user needs, concept development, and experimenting (prototyping, testing).
  • Solid theoretical design thinking foundation from a relevant university degree.
  • Self-driven and pragmatic with strong communication and collaboration skills (across all levels of the organization, between all disciplines).
  • Comfortable with working in a non-linear, unpredictable manner, and eager to facilitate design thinking activities.
  • Knowledge of medical devices is an advantage.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English.
