Samsøe Samsøe is recruiting a Womenswear RTW Designer for a 1-year parental leave contract, to develop ideas and support the design and development of the ready-to-wear categories of Woven, Outerwear, and Suiting. They will work to initiate design concepts, following the design development process through to the finished product, in liaise with the Design, Production, and Pattern teams. This is an exciting role and opportunity to be part of a creative environment, to collaborate with different departments and external partners, reporting directly to the Head of Womenswear, in an International Scandinavian Brand.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsibility - Design of RTW Woven, Outerwear, Leather and Suiting, and all related tasks.
- Responsible for design concepts, following the design development process through to the finished product.
- Close dialog with pattern design, production, and sales team, to ensure the best product development and offering.
- Complying and working towards the company's sustainability goals.
- General design-related tasks within the department.
- Report directly to the Head of Womenswear.
TASKS
- Designing the products in the mentioned categories for the four-yearly collection, express & exclusives styles, and Basic line
- Research concepts, and create sketches and ideas throughout the concept development phase
- Work closely with the Design team to build cohesive range plans
- Create detailed tech packs for sampling and production
- Being updated on trends and market aware
- Travel for inspiration and supplier trips
- Research for new fabrics, details, and silhouettes
- Participate in design trend workshop, input for mood boards, prints, and colors
- Sketching the collection in Illustrator and hand sketching, and finalizing styles, fabrics, and colors
- Handover fabric and trimmings to the Production team for sourcing and pricing
- Matching price matrix and product pyramid
- Meet the company's sustainabilty goals
- Participate in Collection preview meetings with the sales and retail teams
- Participate in price and supplier settlement
- Create style setups in Yunique- style sketch, colors, BOM of materials, and styles comments
- Handover styles to the pattern team
- Handover the final fabric and trims to the production team
- Comment and approve all color lap dip, fabric handloom, and trims from the supplier and handover to production
- Participate in proto and photo fitting with the pattern team- check fits, details, and trims. Changes sketch, BOM and make comments
- Participate and prepare material/garments for Kick-off, Preview, Pricing, Curating, and Sales meeting meetings
- Keep track of add-ons and cancellations for each collection
- Build strong relationships with internal departments and external partners and suppliers
YOUR PROFILE
- You have a relevant design degree from higher education
- At least 3 years of experience as RTW Womenswear Designer (for similar product categories)
- Have a creative and innovative mind and are able to work within guidelines
- Ability to contribute creative design ideas with a high level of skill in sketching and technical knowledge
- Has commercial acumen and is customer focused
- Responsible, structured, and detail-oriented
- Flexible in both work tasks and hours
- Strong computer skills in Adobe Illustrator and possibly Yunique or other PLM systems
- Fluent in English both verbally and written
- Team player
