KP Components in Spjald is rapidly developing within production facilities and processes. To support this development, we are looking for a Lean Specialist, who is the key position to drive improvements based on the KP Operational Excellence program at the factory.
The Lean Specialist is responsible for managing and setting up the agenda and targets for the factory from strategic planning to execution of kaizens and improvement initiatives to follow-up on implementation and results. It is key to the role that the Lean Specialist ensures a continuous development by building a strong continuous improvement culture at the factory as well as realizing tangible business results. The position will be a part of our Product Excellent Group in Spjald and includes also collaborating with the company facility in Sweden and South Carolina. You must expect approximately 20 travelling days/year.

The Lean Specialist is responsible for managing and setting up the agenda and targets for the factory from strategic planning to execution of kaizens and improvement initiatives to follow-up on implementation and results. It is key to the role that the Lean Specialist ensures a continuous development by building a strong continuous improvement culture at the factory as well as realizing tangible business results. The position will be a part of our Product Excellent Group in Spjald and includes also collaborating with the company facility in Sweden and South Carolina. Can you see yourself working with:
- Constantly generate a pipeline of kaizen improvements and larger scale projects that deliver measurable cost savings to the business and ensure that the savings generated are sufficient to satisfy any financial objectives given.
- Work on any given improvements and large-scale projects that may be link to site management strategy and objectives.
- To foster good working relationships at all levels of the business to facilitate successful and sustainable implementation of any changes that are as a result of any kaizen and project improvements.
- To promote the benefits to all employees of any workshops or projects via relevant approved internal communication methods.
- To ensure that any lean activities do not have a negative effect on Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost
- To ensure that any documents and procedures are written in accordance with relevant quality standards.
- To keep yourself up to date with current lean thinking and to bring that learning back into the business.
- To deliver any necessary training that is relevant to the Lean strategy of the business
- Make yourself available for meetings / workshops / training / visits as reasonably required.
We see the following skills to be needed:
- Proven Kaizen/Improvement Project Leadership with demonstrable benefits.
- Deep understanding of A3 / DMAIC / PDCA methodologies
- Deep understanding of Value Add and Non-Value Add Activities and how to convert from Non-Value Add to Value Add
- Hands on approach to data collecting through Gemba Observations
- Well organized and logical approach to tasks.
- Innovative / Out of the box thinker for solutions.
We would in addition like to see the following:
- Engineering / Manufacturing background
- Use of VSM
- Understanding of “The Toyota Way” approach to LEAN.
- Ability to coach and mentor production personnel during Kaizen events.
