The Position In this role you will be responsible for all Legal and Compliance matters in the Clinical Development Centre (CDC) Denmark. CDC Denmark is responsible for Novo Nordisk’s clinical trial activities across nine European countries and you will be providing proactive legal and compliance support, advice, training and risk assessment, in compliance with Novo Nordisk policies and external laws and regulations. Your other responsibilities would include:
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws and legislation and internal legal and compliance policies regarding clinical trials, across all nine countries.
  • Ensure effective contract management, including drafting and update of contract templates aligned with corporate templates.
  • Drafting, reviewing and negotiating contracts in clinical trials area (site, investigator, hospitals, vendors among others), as needed.
  • Where necessary, and as aligned with local legal, coordinate external law firms support in line with Global Legal external counsel management guidelines.
  • Anticipate, identify, manage and proactively mitigate legal and compliance risks across CDC Denmark.
  • Primary L&C contact for local legal and provide education and training on legal and compliance topics to relevant personnel within all nine countries.
  • Provide high quality advice on business ethics compliance issues, including on patient recruitment, legal assessment on TPR due diligences, and support all CDC staff by providing regular training as necessary.
  • Handling compliance of personal data protection requirements and coordinating all data privacy matters across all nine countries.
    • Qualifications For this role the ideal candidate has personal drive, an open-minded “can-do” approach and enjoys supporting an international organization in development where there is the opportunity to play a big part in developing the scope of your own role. Furthermore, we expect that you have excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively and professionally across cultural differences and with all levels within the organisation. Moreover, you meet the below requirements:
  • Law Degree and legal bar admission in your home country.
  • At least five years of experience from a major law firm or in-house legal department.
  • Working knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry and preferably clinical trials regulation, experience with negotiation and drafting of trial agreements and investigator agreements.
  • Good understanding of data privacy and the GDPR.
  • Experience with Business Ethics and Compliance in pharmaceutical or medical device industry.
  • English Business level is a basic requirement; Danish language skills are preferred but not required
    • About the Department You will be part of the Legal, Compliance & Quality department in Novo Nordisk Denmark A/S located in Ørestaden in Copenhagen. The team currently consist of four people and is part of the International Operations organization with more than 250 global legal and compliance colleagues situated at +40 locations around the world.
