The position
As the new Global Pricing Director within Obesity, you will be in charge of Novo Nordisk’s in-market AOM (anti-obesity medications). Your primary role will involve developing and executing pricing strategies for these products, generating insights to support patient access to care, and providing pricing insights and decision recommendations to our leadership team. You will have the opportunity to collaborate closely with stakeholders across the value chain and work alongside a team of pricing experts located in our Global offices in Søborg, Denmark, and in our Global Business Service unit in Bangalore, India.
Key responsibilities would include
• Developing and delivering pricing insights within the AOM market across countries and sales channels to key stakeholders in the form of reports, dashboards, newsletters, or similar.
• Providing strategic advice related to our obesity portfolio and broader GLP-1 portfolio, incl. rollout planning and life-cycle management (LCM) activities, to senior leadership.
• Analysing and handling price business cases for strategic launch products in accordance with internal standard operating procedures.
• Ensuring timely and effective communication towards operations to guide them on pricing strategies, execution, insights, and better practices.
• Leading the development of the company’s pricing infrastructure, including standard operating procedures, and overseeing the management and implementation of pricing systems and tools. Qualifications
To qualify for this position, you must have at least 10 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, and a minimum of 5 years of experience in pharmaceutical pricing, ideally with global or above-country operational pricing management experience and preferably also with experience in managing pricing of non-reimbursed prescription medicines.
In addition to the above, you should have analytical skills with a demonstrated ability to handle complex data, "crunch" the data to extract insights that determine pricing decisions, and have strong methodologies to understand consumption dynamics by developing and testing hypotheses.
Furthermore, a successful candidate for this position should possess the following qualities and skills:
• An M.Sc. or Ph.D. degree in economics, health economics, business finance, or similar
• Thorough understanding of the pricing and market access landscape in major global markets, such as the US, Canada, Europe, Japan, and China
• Robust analytical abilities to estimate price elasticities, assess willingness to pay, evaluate portfolio dynamics, and determine financial implications
• Experience in building pricing reports, dashboards, business case development, and analytics and scenario planning
• Leadership capabilities, and exceptional stakeholder management skills As a person, you can effectively communicate analytical findings and recommendations to stakeholders using spoken, written, and visual mediums. You act proactively in developing solutions to address future challenges and opportunities by effectively listening and reading the organization. About the department
