The Position As a (Senior) Category Manager in the Corporate Procurement R&D Sourcing team, you will be leading and supporting sourcing and business development projects within indirect categories for R&D spend categories. The R&D Sourcing team supports global Procurement activities across the full R&D value chain. Your main responsibilities will be to: Work with development and implementation of sourcing/category strategies for R&D and conduct relevant change management activities to ensure that your results are anchored in the organisation Source, negotiate and optimise cost for clinical services that are outsourced to suppliers during the clinical drug development phases. This includes working closely with the line of business to define business requirements, evaluate, negotiate, and select suppliers Manage the needs and expectations of your stakeholders to drive satisfaction, while ensuring compliance to procurement standards and alignment with procurement strategies Work closely with your colleagues in the R&D Sourcing team and key stakeholders, to identify cost opportunities in our global organisation as well as drive procurement best practice, category management and negotiations Manage the sourcing process and drive large supplier contract negotiations in collaboration with R&D stakeholders at all levels This role gives you the opportunity to be exposed to different organisational areas throughout Clinical Drug Development and beyond, and act as a procurement expert in a highly specialised area and be part of a dynamic and highly collaborative team. Qualifications The right candidate is looking for the next step in their career within procurement and is motivated by developing and driving new high potential sourcing projects.
To thrive in this role, we expect you to have the following qualifications: Master's Degree in business administration, finance, supply chain management or similar Few years of experience of working as a category manager and in sourcing Experience within clinical trials, clinical outsourcing areas or other regulated industries (e.g. pharmaceutical industry, biotech, CRO industry etc.) is preferred but not a requirement. Great stakeholder management skills On a personal level, you are analytically strong, proactive, self-driven with an international mindset, and can create results by motivating costumers, colleagues, and project teams, while being able to drive change management in a diverse customer landscape using your leadership skills to influence and impact key stakeholders. Furthermore, we expect you to be curious and have an interest in understanding the value chain in a large organisation, while having excellent communication and presentation skills, and being used to having senior and top management as your key stakeholders.
