At Maersk we defined Middle Mile as FTL and LTL, and thus all non-containerized over the road freight distribution services.
As a Middle Mile Functional Product Owner, you will join our ambitious Landside Transportation team in Maersk Procurement, with colleagues in Spain, Netherlands Denmark and Australia.
Landside Transportation -- including trucking, rail, barge and related services -- is the engine of Maersk's growth and transformation and is the key driver to help us in our missions to integrate the world's supply chains and decarbonize logistics.
What the role is about:
As our Middle Mile Functional Product Owner, you will be the global procurement process lead. You will drive the transformation and adoption of the way we execute middle mile transportation through global process standardization, continuous improvement through best practice sharing and modernization with high focus on digitization.
You will work closely with our 24 frontline procurement teams to understand current process maturity and gather local requirements for improvements and global standards.
You will also be responsible for outlining the processes, SOPs and general controls to govern process and system adherence. Ensuring that end users are actively following the standard processes and are actively using the tools available incl. the quality of both input and output from the procurement processes.
Specifically, you will:
- Work closely with the newly established Middle Mile Product and Category Management team in Center and with frontline teams to define our procurement processes for the Middle Mile category
- Define the process hand-over point and dependencies to the upstream and downstream processes.
- Drive process performance, standards, and compliance by defining and monitoring key process and performance indicators
- Build a global Middle Mile Process Community. Driving global engagement, best practices sharing and end user adoption.
- Support the roll out of process improvement and digital transformation initiatives
- Document best practices and success stories and drive their implementation across the 24 frontline procurement teams.
- Work with Acquired companies to leverage their capabilities and technology.
Besides your process responsibilities, you will take active participation in setting the direction for our team. You will represent Procurement in cross-functional strategic workstreams and ensure that we are creating a real impact across Maersk.
You are the right person for the job if you have:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Middle Mile transportation, supply chain logistics in Maersk or a similar international company
- Outstanding process-oriented mindset with effective technical knowledge in Middle Mile distribution.
- Ability to drive change management and lead digital transformations at global scale
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills – you can build rapport with people on all levels and have a top-tier facilitation and coaching toolkit
- Proactive personality – you can take ownership, work independently, and achieve results as a team player
- Eagerness to be best in class and part of a winning team
The job is based in Copenhagen and travel will be expected as part of the position.
