At HOFOR, we play an important role in ensuring households and companies in the Copenhagen area have district heating. As a biomass procurement officer, you are active across global markets, negotiating contracts that secure the production of electricity and heat.
Wood chip and wood pellet procurement
Reporting to the head of Fuel Sourcing and Logistics, you will have a key role in HOFOR’s fuel sourcing programme. Your job will be to purchase fuel for HOFOR’s facilities, primarily the Amagerværket power plant, so they can produce heat and electricity at competitive prices. Together with the rest of the team, you will be responsible for ensuring a ready supply of fuel, so we can keep the citizens of Copenhagen warm. You achieve this by sourcing fuel from across international markets at the right price, quality and time.
Your main tasks will be to:
Result-oriented procurement officer
We expect you have a background in procurement or the forestry industry, and possess relevant tertiary level qualifications, such as an MSc in Forest and Nature Management, Bachelor of Forest and Landscape Engineering or an MSc in Economics and Business Administration. You also possess a strong business understanding, have an inquisitive approach, are result-oriented and have experience with contract formulation. You can structure processes while still focusing on the details.
You strive to create tangible results and you have the structure and overview to coordinate the successful completion of your assignments – regardless of whether working alone or in collaboration with others. You will therefore be capable of handling several tasks simultaneously, both large and small.
You should excel in a role that places great demands on your ability to plan, realise and cultivate relations. You should be excited by the prospect of working in an area that is evolving rapidly and where we are constantly developing new solutions. Also important, is your capacity to create good relations and to thrive on having daily contact with numerous colleagues and external partners.
Excellent spoken and written English is a must.
You should expect up to 30 travel days a year.
