Ensure continued development of two heavy industry production plants

The two production plants are based in Valenciennes with 100 employees and in Flaumont with 65 employees incl. temporary staff. The plants are operational 24/7/356 and produce 100 ktons yearly of dolomite bricks, burnt dolomite, dolomite mixes and cured dolomite used in different high temperature production environments like steel or cement production. Your primary responsibility is to lead projects with implementation of machinery, automation and related for both plants in close cooperation with plant management, production management, maintenance management, SC Management and Corporate Capex team. The budget is app. 1,7m Euros for the two plants in 2022 and expected to be at 1,5 – 4m Euros each year. Currently there is a major revamp of a production kiln planned with 6 weeks downtime and multiple suppliers involved. Another current high-level project is extension of crushing capacity with a new building and 4 new storage silos and a project with automatic unloading robotics.

Your daily tasks in the job encompasses:

• Assessment of both plants and establishment of project portfolio incl. business case, cost for implementation and cost savings / efficiencies gained
• Prepare request for investments for 2023 and the following years
• Contact to suppliers, provide investment requests, gathering of supplier quotations and supplier qualification
• Plan plant upgrade, provide technical documentation and coordination with all relevant stake holders
• Follow implementation onsite incl. H&S for internal and external people working on the projects
• Training internal staff in use of new machinery and technology
• Document each upgrade project

Experienced Technical Maintenance profile

You have a master’s degree in maintenance or other technical field like mechanical engineering, automation, mechatronics or related. Further you have at least 5 – 8 years’ experience in the maintenance department in a similar kind of production plant like production of glass, steel, cement, chemicals, petrochemical, offshore industry, energy, automotive, pharma, food or similar. Alternatively you have similar experience from a maintenance consulting and services company working with this kind of customer.

Further the right candidate has the following personal traits and skills – you are:

• A strong communicator, good at finding suitable solutions and cooperating in an open, honest, respectful and transparent manner, expressing challenges early stage
• Pragmatic, agile, strong influencer and adaptable
• Fluent in English – German language skills is a plus but not a requirement
