Product Owner - Port Monitor

Svitzer is looking for an experienced Product Owner to join the team on our flagship digital product – Port Monitor.

As the Product Owner for Port Monitor you will join our Performance & Products team, part of our Global Operations function based in Copenhagen, Denmark. You will work closely with stakeholders across our global footprint to expand Port Monitor’s roll-out and deliver on decarbonisation goals. You will gain a deep understanding of our operations and partner with our mature Technology organisation to identify further opportunities to drive value.

At Svitzer we are at the forefront of providing towage and sustainable marine solutions worldwide, operating across 37 countries. Our mission to enhance port and terminal safety and efficiency is powered by a fleet of 450+ vessels and a dedicated workforce of 4,000 professionals.

We are currently on a new journey, separating from the Maersk Group and becoming a listed company on the Danish stock exchange end April 2024. In recent years, we have grown through new contracts and acquisitions, and growing continues to be a focus.

The position

Port Monitor leverages data from across our global towage fleet of more than 300+ vessels, combined with Machine Learning, to help us better understand how we can support our ambitious decarbonisation agenda. It identifies gaps in our fuel efficiency and seeks to make understanding where and how to improve easily visible. Port Monitor’s simple value proposition is delivered through a combination of IoT, Data and Full-Stack development capabilities.

Taking on this role, your key responsibilities will include:

• Lead the product vision, strategy, and roadmap in collaboration with stakeholders, ensuring alignment with company goals and business needs
• Define and prioritize product features, enhancements, and user stories based on user feedback and business objectives
• Act as the voice of the user, advocating for user-centric design and ensuring that the product meets or exceeds user expectations
• Continuously monitor and analyse key metrics and user behaviour to identify opportunities for product improvement and innovation
• Partner with the product Scrum Master to maintain effective and focused product delivery following the Scrum methodology
• Ensure user training and promotional material is in place for the product

Who we are looking for

We envision that you are an experienced product owner with a track record of delivery, preferably in a corporate setting.

Moreover, we expect that you:

• Strive to gain a deep understanding of our business operations and how the product supports, in doing so you are keen to work with stakeholders at all levels of the organization
• Are excited to promote your product, ‘selling’ the benefits to stakeholders, and bringing your users on the journey with you
• Display the ability to connect and build relationships within the organization and you communicate easily at all levels. You function as a change agent that drives our decarbonisation ambitions and inspires people to join, and you are always curious and eager to learn
• Possess strong analytical skills with the ability to gather and interpret data to make informed decisions
