Innovation Project Manager – Next Generation Endoscopy Display systems
– Use your skills to develop medical devices that help save lives and improve patient care
Are you able to lead medical device development projects in a global setup? Do you have experience managing development of embedded systems? And do you have a strong system understanding? Then we have an exciting job opportunity.
Ambu’s display unit project management team is looking for a new colleague who can take the lead on developing our next generations of display units from idea to market introduction.
Ambu is developing full endoscopy solutions comprising our single-use endoscopes and our display units in combinations. Our solutions are thus evoking a key element supporting the doctors in delivering superior patient care and for Ambu’s ambitious growth.
Managing display unit projects involves a substantial amount of coordination between cross-fuctional areas such as hardware and software modules, external partners, RA/QA, Marketing, procurement et. Empathy and a broad understanding combining user centric development and medical device development is needed. Important aspects include but not limited to the design thinking, design/quality control, risk management, usability will lead you to success in this position. You are closely supported by system engineers and system architects to take the right technical decisions to close the feasibility gaps.

As Innovation Project Manager, you are following your product through the product lifecycle. Therefore agile and design thinking mindset is crucial to ensure new ideas are growing to valuable features for our users and patients. Our work includes a high degree of user and customer involvement and a part of the job is therefore to meet the medical professionals at their locations in operating rooms, intensive care units or pre-hospital settings.
Experience with project management in the medical device industry
Key competences:
• Have a track record in leading cross-functional project teams
• Have experience with medical device development and the associated standards/regulations
• Have a technical mindset to engage and understand best practices in hardware and software development
• Have an understanding of Agile as well as Design Thinking pratices is recommended
As a person you are self-motivated, structured and have a strong sense of responsibility towards your work and your team members. You are open-minded and you use your great interpersonal skills in your daily work to drive the projects, motivating the project team members and drive for fast and risk-based decision making.
You probably hold a degree in engineering and more than 5 years of solid experience within medical device project execution.
This position gives you the opportunity to travel 10-20 days per year.
