Senior Project Manager – greenfield projects in the pharma industry

If you know how to manage large technical greenfield projects up to 150 mill. DKK, we have just the right job for you. At least if you find pharma production and automation as exciting as we do. We have a historically interesting pipeline of automation related projects, primarily at the giant pharma site in Kalundborg, but for the next three years your primary work location will be in Copenhagen area. You will lead various interdisciplinary teams of sub–Project Managers and Engineers from both Denmark and abroad. You will be based at our office in Skovlunde, Copenhagen where you will be close to other project managers in the PMO as well as colleagues in our engineering department. Your responsibilities
- Manage the project to final delivery – with lots of direct customer contact.
- Manage a complex project setup with interfaces the customer representative and to other sub-suppliers like buildings and process equipment.
- Create and manage project plans, follow-up, and coordinate activities within the project team.
- Identify and secure necessary approvals for all changes in project scope, budget and/or schedule.
- Contract management, coordinate with procurement and manage subcontractors.
- Motivate and guide the team(s) of technology specialists from Denmark and abroad from primarily Sweden, but also Czech Republic and India.
- Spot opportunities for additional sales and interact with the right people to turn ideas into projects.
- Ensure cost, quality, and time on what typically is ABB’s responsibility, which includes electrical & automation engineering, purchasing, installation and commissioning.
- Create and manage project plans, follow-up, and coordinate activities within the project team.
- Identify and secure necessary approvals for all changes in project scope, budget and/or schedule.
Your background
- 10+ years of project experience including at least five years as Project Manager, preferably from pharma related automation projects.
- Experience with automation projects.
- Proven track-record of project management involving project with a heavy load of man-hours.
- Proven track-record of the ability to navigate in a complex customers setup and many interfaces to sub-contractors on the project.
- A project manager certification such as PRINCE2, IPMA etc. Experience with contract management and managing subcontractors Motivation for building knowledge in the pharma domain.
- Overview, structure, and proactive problem-solving skills – the classic project management DNA.
- Negotiation skills – you know when to hold firm and when to compromise with equally good feeling for the mood and overall relationship.
- Good English skills, written and spoken (Danish skills are an advantage but not a prerequisite for applying).
