The department – Security Operations Center
As a security operations consultant you will become a part of the security operations center (SOC). You will join a team of 11 like-minded professionals including the manager. The department covers both internal and external support and operations assignments. The functions and different position are well structured and defined, but it expected of everyone to lend a helpful hand, when the others are in need. Every employee in the team acts as a single point of contact for some customers, and the assignments can be both routine-based and differ from day to day.
There is an open-door mentality both between colleagues, as well as for the leader, that is why, you can feel free to bring ideas and problems at the table. It is important for all in the team to feel one can count on each other, and thus, delivering the best services to the customers.
Manager - Georgios Sagos
You will refer to the Support and Operations Manager, Georgios Sagos, who has been working in Dubex for almost 20 years. Georgios has a background as network administrator and is known for his practical, direct, yet informal approach to the role as manager. His love and passion for cyber security makes him still be an active part of the team, working side by side with the other on the technical solutions.
Georgios is the type of manager, who is at eye-height with everyone in his team. Within the organisation, Georgios is described as a great ‘coach’, from his direct communication and wish to keep the ball going. He values honesty and prefers to say things directly – but also expects to be met with the same honesty from his employees. Georgios is also known for his eye for bringing people together in solving and handling difficult tasks, where he understands how to facilitate and use their different competencies.
Georgios advocates an informal tone of conversation and a workspace, where humour is practiced with respect for everyone's individual boundaries.
The position
As Security Operations Consultant you will be responsible for securing daily operations and support for major customers from all industries.
To be successful in the position, is it highly important that you can thrive within a dynamic environment and with different assingments, as most of your time will go with supporting the customers proxy and antivirus solutions, reacting accordingly to the tickets, and ensuring the proper understading of their needs. It is the type of position where most of the time you do not know what you come to everyday. The stability in the job is offered by being a part of the same team, as the role does not involve being at customers location.
You are also expected to handle our managed EDR solution, in terms of the systems daily operations.
There is paid, one week at a time “on-call duty” in the position.
Primary responsibilities
- React and support accordingly on proxy and antivirus solutions.
- React and support accordingly on other solutions.
- Continuous maintenance and software-update of patches including OS patches.
- Health checks of accounts managed by the solutions may occur .
Professional qualifications
- Experience from a position as a IT support, IT specialist, IT consultant, system administrator, and/or a similar role
- Flair for or experience with operating several of these areas: Antivirus, proxy, managed EDR, Windows integration, and general IT security.
- General knowledge within web protocols, SSL inspection.

Communication. You are good with words and understand how to convey your message to different groups of people on a technical, as well as management level, in both writing and speech. You thrive with the preparation of documentation and reports.
Analytical with eye for detail. You place an emphasis on ensuring a good basis for decision making, where you ensure the necessary details and depth in your investigations of complex issues.
Curious and knowledge-seeking. You take great interest in learning new technologies and find it natural to seek answers to things you do not know and keep yourself up to date with market trends.
Humour.You can make everyday life better with a humoristic approach to both tasks and the people around you.
Collaboration and team player. Although you function independently, you believe that the best results are delivered in a collaboration. You are determined to solve problems together and show empathy towards your co-workers. You respect people differences and enable actions that help people in their daily work.
