As Semco Maritime’s new Solutions Architect, you will become part of the IT division, the central organization that supports and collaborates with all divisions to develop Semco’s core business. The division works with a continuous focus on delivering business-crucial IT solutions and helping the business to work out new technical solutions to support the business. You will be a part of Semco’s journey towards cloud solutions.
You will become part of a team with a high focus on collaboration and helping each other to deliver as one. The team of developers is located primarily in Esbjerg, Denmark, with some colleagues located in Ballerup, the Philippines and Sri Lanka. It is therefore crucial that you have strong English skills in both writing and speaking. You will experience a high level of involvement and influence as you work together as a team to find the best solutions.
You will preferably work from Semco Maritime’s pleasant headquarters in Esbjerg Harbour or at the office in Ballerup. Once you have completed your onboarding program, you will have the opportunity to work from home two days a week.
Tasks and responsibilities
As Semco has a focus on growth and new emerging projects, they also need a strong focus on delivering new features on already established applications and delivering new technical solutions to support the business.
Your overall responsibility is to take technical ownership of a wide range of Semco Maritime’s own developed applications. This involves interacting with the business, understanding the needs to be met and transforming these into applicable and codable solutions.
You will use technical solution design an architectural thinking when you make new development and further development of existing applications. As the application portfolio is shared between you and your colleague, you will be cooperating closely around these solutions.
As the technical owner, it will also be your responsibility to ensure a plan for maintenance of the applications and to secure the handover of new functionality to Support and Operation.
Your time will be divided approx. 50% in solution architecture and 50% in hands-on coding.

- Ensure strong stakeholder management
- Translate business needs into digital solution design
- Develop and code the solutions on your own applications
- Secure the right solution design for the external and internal developers
- Create the simplest, and at the same time the most correct, solutions
- Have an overview of the solution architecture on the selected applications
- Establish a maintenance roadmap for the applications
Who are you?
We imagine that you are an experienced IT Developer with a solution architect mindset.
You should also possess the following professional qualifications and personal attributes:
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Fullstack Developer with focus on C#/.NET
- Strong knowledge of SQL
- Knowledge of Python is a plus, as most of our engineering colleagues are familiar with this language and are working as citizen developers within their own applications (engineering tools)
- Knowledge of React/React Native, as some of our business-critical applications are currently based on these languages
- Experience with working in an agile setup
- A holistic mindset and an eye for solution architecture, as well as the full enterprise application landscape
- Preferably knowledge of the Azure platform
- Experience with release processes, testing and documentation
- Proactive in nature, communicative, solution-oriented, structured and self-driven
