As the Director of Cloud Fabric, you will gain broad business knowledge of the company’s activities globally, as well as understand how the complexity of IT supports the transport and logistics business.
As a key member of the Cloud & Innovation Platform leadership team, you will lead the productization of our services, and several product teams. You will ensure all teams have clear product visions, customer feedback loops, and deliver to promise.
You are seen as a thought leader in public and private cloud and can drive transformation from ideation into delivery. You are driven to create and build; is operationally credible; possess a relentless focus on the customer; and can effectively build, inspire and lead teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own the Product roadmaps, delivery and optimisation responsibilities
- Defining and Leading the Discovery Phase of a Product, to collect customer feedback and prioritizing features and epics
- Work with other peers to drive product enhancements, and drive roadmaps.
- Hire and develop high quality leaders and engineers while strengthening morale and cohesion across the teams
- Partner with Strategy, Commercial, UX, Customer Experience and Product teams to build the roadmap for platform evolution and product expansion
- Provide high-level technical contributions to customer relationships and foster service-focused engineering environment
- Ensure product architecture and implementation is optimized for speed, scalability and reusability
- Working with teams across the organization to deliver outcomes for the business stakeholders to define and evolve products from concept to reality.
- Leading lean thinking across teams, focusing on removal of waste in process and handoff points across the lifecycle
- Collaborate with multi-functional teams to develop a comprehensive understanding of the key drivers and opportunities within the business
- Apply tools, methodologies and standard methodologies for the improvement of the product development process, and to facilitate simple fast releases
- Meet financial objectives by forecasting requirements; preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions
What You’ll Do
- Manage and expand the core product team to productize the Cloud fabric of Maersk across public, Private and edge cloud.
- Create and inspire new products that will shape the future cloud platform of Maersk.
- Hire and develop high quality engineering leaders while strengthening morale and cohesion across the teams
- Provide high-level technical contributions to customer relationships and foster service-focused engineering environment
- Ensure product architecture and implementation is maintainable and scalable to accommodate future development
- Responsible for enabling the System Development Life Cycle methodology and implementing associated cross-functional tools to ensure adoption and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with multi-functional teams to develop a comprehensive understanding of the key drivers and opportunities within the business
- Handle priorities and clearly communicate expectations to department heads and the executive team
- Provide comprehensive leadership collaborating with a variety of team members including working cross-functionally with the broader technology team at Maersk to drive common platforms and new services
- Collaborate with other Engineering Directors on interdependencies and best-practices
- Meet financial objectives by forecasting requirements; preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions
Who You Are
- Proven background leading experienced development teams delivering high performance; highly available and resilient applications and infrastructures.
- Solid technical background, with hands-on experience in automated; agile environments delivering infrastructure; monitoring and tooling to a complex on-prem and multi-cloud ecosystem
- A track record of delivering infrastructure and supporting services utilizing best practices to enable reliability, scalability, and flexibility
- A strong passion for development in the infrastructure space
- Led teams through fast paced development cycles; committed to automation, agile, lean-startup, continuous delivery approach
- Able to work across organizational boundaries and matrixed reporting structures
- Ability to fully understand business goals and metrics, turn data into insights, and translate requirements into actionable analysis
- Able to present and communicate technical concepts in a clear and concise manner
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, supported by excellent written and oral communication
- Exhibit a strong work ethic and technical thought-leadership
