Do you love to code, develop and integrate new solutions for the development of personalized medicine in Denmark, using the latest technologies in the area of health and medicine? At the Danish National Genome Center we are working in a world-class national High Performance Computing (HPC) infrastructure for Precision Medicine – and we are looking for two new backend developers who knows their way around Python to join the ‘Databases & Integrations’ section.
About the Danish National Genome Center

A future in which treatments will be tailored for the individual. And a future in which we, in some cases, will be able to provide a treatment, even though, all hope had been abandoned.
The Danish National Genome Center’s primary task is to establish the foundation for the development of better diagnostics and more targeted treatments using Whole Genome Sequencing. The Center has a national responsibility to develop state of the art infrastructure to enable analysis on big biomedical heterogenous data.
One of the Danish National Genome Center’s main goals is to be at the forefront of new big data solutions in the healthcare domain. The Danish National Genome Center is working with HPC, internal cloud services, network, servers, storage, applications, users and cross-cutting processes in a Linux software environment.
About the position
We are looking to expand our developer team with two new backend developers to join our team of 5 backend developers. Alongside the rest of our team you will become involved in multiple development projects, which will provide lots of challenges and opportunities for growth. We are looking for a person with a solid foundation in system development combined with good energy levels. You will be working together with other developers to build a backend solution capable of handling data flows and integrations. You will also be working with highly sensitive data, which means that the security level is very high, compliance is extremely important and our ISO certification must be upheld.

Terms of employment
Terms will be based on the collective agreement between the Danish Ministry of Taxation and the Danish Federation of Professional Associations (AC-overenskomsten) or according to the relevant professional association, if you are not covered by AC-overenskomsten.
Classification will depend your academic qualifications and experience.
This full-time position is available as soon as possible.

Professional qualifications
- a good grip of and practical experience with modern Python
- experience with PostgreSQL and other relational database systems
- experience with data modelling
- experience with UNIX/Linux systems
- track record of collaborating using the Git version control system
- track record of writing clean, maintainable, and testable code
It would be a plus to have experience with:
- programming languages other than Python, especially Golang
- building containerized applications
- monitoring systems for instance Zabbix, Checkmk
- the gRPC framework
- the health data area
