With direct reference to Head of R&D - HCW Meters, you will become a part of our Technology division which is responsible for the development of our high-tech metering solutions for water and energy utilities around the world. More specifically, you will be a part of the R&D department consisting of +30 experienced and motivated employees with variating backgrounds in physicists, hardware, software, and mechanical engineering. Together we are responsible for the development of the total solution for our heat and water meters, and we collaborate and combine our skills to create the best products of the future. The team is characterized by an informal environment where we value open dialogue and professional development.
Embedded Software Developer with a focus on quality and reliability
In the position as Embedded Software Developer, you will be responsible for software development from concept specification, design, and implementation to production. It is our aim to create high-quality and long-lasting products, and you will play a key part in reaching that goal while following the hardware development process. Furthermore, you will be collaborating across Kamstrup throughout the development phases with Product Managers and our production sites to ensure that we end up with the best product.
More specifically your responsibilities will be to:
• Developing energy-optimized software for battery applications
• Creating robust software for long time operation without service
• Creating embedded applications using C
• Following the tasks from specification to release and ensuring quality in all aspects of the solution
• Participating in project-oriented development processes
Personality matters
We are looking for an Embedded Software Developer who has a flair for finding simple and robust solutions and is excited about the prospect of creating high-quality and long-lasting products. You have an educational background in Software, Electronics Engineering, or similar which has given you an in-depth knowledge of C as well as a basic understanding of hardware. Furthermore, knowledge of C# and Python will be considered an advantage. Whether you have a few years of experience or are newly graduated is not crucial, but you are driven by a genuine interest in software development with a theoretical understanding, practical approach, and a focus on the final product.
As a person you work independently and thrive in technical immersion, however, you also find value in collaborating and knowledge-sharing with colleagues both within and outside your team. You do not compromise the quality of your work and maintaining and delivering a high standard is a value to you. It is natural for you to be curious and ask critical questions that challenge the status quo, and you are motivated to continuously find new and better solutions. Finally, you have a structured and analytical approach towards tasks and take ownership of your work, which enables you to take the lead in development processes and keep deadlines.
It is a requirement that you speak and write both Danish and English fluently.
