Are you interested in understanding the factors that impact the effect of training and performance support in the pharmaceutical industry’s production roles? Do you have an interest in the quality of training and operational performance, and for applying statistical methods in industrial training and digital learning technologies? The PhD project is a part of strategic collaboration project between Novo Nordisk and DTU. The Position By joining the PhD Digital Training project, you will be driving your own project and collaborating with both industry and academia. You will review the existing literature and research on regulated training in the pharmaceutical industry and identify best practices for evaluation of the impact of training, learning & development. You will have focus on delivering concrete methods and models for evaluating the impact of training. As a member of Training Technology & Standards team in Novo Nordisk and as a researcher at the learnT DTU centre, your tasks will include:
  • Identifying the challenges of training provided to the target group in the operational setting
  • Provide suggestions on how to improve the formats and standards for regulated training in the pharmaceutical industry to ensure a high business value of training as a competitive advantage
  • Have attitude toward the tasks and responsibilities of the operator’s role and behaviour of the operator following completed training while utilizing performance supporting tools
  • Design and complete studies within Novo Nordisk and ensure qualitative research of all aspects relevant to the goal of the PhD project
  • Disseminate the scientific outcomes in international academic educational technology community, through publication of papers in journals, books, and conferences.
  • Qualifications
  • Two-year master's degree (120 ECTS points) or a similar degree with an academic level equivalent to a two-year master's degree.
  • The master’s degree should be in Information Technology and Learning, user experience (UX), techno-anthropology, instructional design, computational science, or engineering, learning analytics, or equivalent academic qualifications
  • Knowledge in documenting experience in relevant learning and evaluation theories
  • Your impact in measurement and benefit realisation, applied statistics, & data science, and experience in working with digital learning technologies, and/or learning analytics
  • Experience in pedagogical training and understanding of data science and/or organisational transformation
  • Good command of English language is required for academic dissemination. The ability to communicate in Danish language will be an advantage.
  • About the Department The Training Technology & Standards department is part of a central organisation responsible for supporting training to Novo Nordisk´s regulated production. The department utilises XR technologies (Augmented and Virtual Reality) as well as traditional training formats (classroom & peer-to-peer training) to enable effective training formats for the training solutions developed for specific business needs. As it is crucial to the business to provide effective and efficient as well as user centric and timely training, Novo Nordisk continuously work to develop new and better formats for training and standards for the application of such training.
