We are looking for a dedicated laboratory technician/associate Scientist with a passion for in vitro lab work to join the Kidney & Pancreas Biology Department – is this you? Then please apply today The position The laboratory technician/associate scientist will work closely with experienced scientists to support all aspects of the daily activities in the in vitro biology lab. From culturing primary human cells to conducting and analysing in vitro experiments. Most of your time will be spent in the laboratory, however, you will also be responsible for processing and reporting obtained data according to guidelines. Your daily routine may vary from established experiments standard tasks to challenging and innovative work. You will also be responsible for experimental procedures, maintenance of equipment as well as general laboratory maintenance. We are a diverse department with multiple nationalities. Hence, English is the common language. Moreover, results and analyses are reported in English using electronic notebooks. Responsibilities Plan and conduct experiments in the laboratory in alignment with set priorities. Find solutions to practical issues and optimize your workflow. Collect and report results to scientists in the team. Be curious, ask questions and share your own knowledge. Continuously learn about new cellular models and techniques. Qualifications: Minimum 2 years of practical laboratory experience. Education as Laboratory Technician maybe with an overlayer as Bachelor of Biomedical Laboratory Science (from “Professionshøjskolen”) or equivalent Handling of mammalian cells (passing and differentiating), analytical methods e.g., flow cytometry, Elisa, qPCR, imaging (Operetta), phenotyping (Incucyte), molecular biology techniques such as siRNA. Fluency in English writing and speaking. Experience with lab automation systems is considered an asset. Experience with organ-on-a-chip, organoids is considered a plus. Knowledge in kidney or diabetes disease is considered as a plus. As a person you thrive in a dynamic research environment. You think and act independently and you are familiar with prioritization and problem solving in a laboratory context. You have a positive can-do attitude and are highly collaborative. About the department The kidney and pancreas department is anchored in the Type 1 Diabetes and kidney disease (T1DKD) research area within Global Drug Discovery (GDD), Novo Nordisk A/S. As part of Novo Nordisk’s strategy within chronic metabolic diseases, we are focusing on target identification, target validation and pre-clinical characterisation of new assets to become novel treatment options for patients living with cardiometabolic diseases. In close collaboration with our colleagues across GDD, we are working in an organ-centric and disease agnostic manner to develop, characterise and utilize in vitro tools to elucidate mode-of-action and profiling of novel biology and molecules for early evaluation of drug candidates.
