The position
The Executive Assistant (EA) acts as a strategic partner to the Corporate Vice President (CVP) of Global Public Affairs & Sustainability (GPAS). In this role, you will act as a sounding board, sparring partner, and challenger to the CVP and the management team of GPAS. You will assist the CVP and management team in identifying the key priorities of the area and subsequently support the execution of these priorities. The role gives exceptional insights into the decision-making and strategic projects across the area, which you will leverage to ensure that there are no loose ends and that the CVP is always well-equipped for internal and external engagements. The EA engages with the full width of the GPAS team (currently 100+ colleagues) and will also liaise frequently with other functional areas in Novo Nordisk to ensure proper GPAS input/ownership in relevant processes. The role offers a diverse set of tasks and responsibilities, including:
  • Maintaining excellent quality in deliverables toward Novo Nordisk’s senior leadership
  • Developing and executing cross-department projects in GPAS and beyond
  • Problem-solving on strategic projects across the full portfolio of GPAS and ensuring smooth coordination between the CVP and the broader GPAS area
  • Providing strategic sparring to the CVP on e.g. organizational development
  • Preparing briefing material and accompanying the CVP at internal and external engagements (some travel to be expected)
  • Qualifications
    The ideal candidate has:
  • A Master’s degree in e.g. economics, business administration, social sciences, engineering, or biological, medical, or pharmaceutical science
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience working closely with senior leaders/executives including experience in a sustainability- or public affairs-related function in a large organization
  • A track record of successfully managing projects with attention to detail, process, and stakeholder management
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a track record of building professional relationships with credibility and trust
  • A structured and analytical approach to problem-solving widely applicable in both public affairs and sustainability
  • Outstanding communication skills in written and spoken English

    Global Public Affairs and Sustainability aspires to be a proactive and solutions-oriented partner to society in the joint ambition of solving society’s fundamental challenges. As the Executive Assistant to the Corporate Vice President (CVP) of the area, you will collaborate closely with the personal assistant to the CVP as well as cross-functionally with colleagues from the departments that make up the area, namely Global Public Affairs, Corporate Environmental Strategy, Global Health Equity, and ESG Strategy & Intelligence. The departments handle a host of strategic issues for Novo Nordisk, including topics such as ensuring access to medicines, reducing CO2 emissions, and supporting Novo Nordisk’s public affairs efforts in key countries.
