One of the strategic focus areas at JYSK is “Making JYSK more sustainable”. You here have the opportunity to contribute to this strategic journey and be a part of the coming Science Based Target commitment.
As Sustainability Director at JYSK, you will be responsible for prioritising and implementing JYSK sustainability efforts securing sustainability projects aligned with the overall strategy and carried out across the organisation. You will proactively run the sustainability agenda with your team of two competent colleagues and will only succeed with broad cooperation across the organisation and different functions in JYSK.
You will be reporting directly to EVP Finance/CFO working to ensure that JYSK continuously focuses on measuring and understanding its carbon footprint, recycling rate, and other key sustainability metrics. This means sparring with the organisation on how JYSK can best focus its efforts and where it can have the most significant positive impact. Furthermore, you will participate proactively in improving how the products are made and how they are shipped, and telling these sustainability stories to customers compellingly.
Your work tasks can be categorised within the below main areas of responsibilities:
You have a minimum of 5 years of experience from a similar position working within corporate sustainability/ESG. You have gained experience managing, developing, and evaluating sustainability initiatives through your years working in the field. Experience with Science Based Targets is an advance since JYSK is facing a commitment to SBTi in the fall of 2023.
You have a Master’s degree, but your educational area is less important. Besides your experience within sustainability and your educational background, strong stakeholder management skills along with experience as a project manager, is key to succeeding in the role.
As a person, you have what it takes to be a close sparring partner for top management. Furthermore, you are a skilled communicator that can inspire colleagues and external partners. You take pride in delivering high quality within the deadline and thrive in a job with many stakeholders at several organisational levels.
Travelling: 20-30 days a year
Domicile: Aarhus
