Landscape Architect/Scenographer for KOMPAN Design department - Denmark

For our Product Innovation department, we are looking for a landscape architect or scenographer to join our Concept and Design team at Head Quarters in Odense, as our new Solution Designer.

We are a dynamic cross-national team of more than 40 playground designers who create the world’s most innovative, imaginative, and bespoke play spaces and sport & fitness areas.

You will be a vital member of the HQ office with about 10 designers and workshop specialists, who are responsible for designing the products of the future in play, fitness, and outdoor spaces.

You will be in a dynamic cross-disciplinary environment, and work in close cooperation with colleagues from other departments like engineering, safety and our own KOMPAN Play Institute.

Tasks and responsibilities

As a Solution Designer in our Concept and Design team, you are expected to be at the very forefront in creating entirely new concepts and solutions within the field of playscapes and outdoor spaces for everybody.

By drawing on the many resources in our organization, your designs will integrate play and landscape in new and innovative ways, and the design solutions will eventually serve as guidelines and templates for colleagues around the world.

You will be doing this by employing your skills within research, sketching, ideation, 3D modelling, visualizing, prototyping, testing etc., and of course always in fruitful cooperation with the rest of the team and with the support of your manager.

Key responsibilities

• Engage in research and keep yourself updated on relevant topics.
• Suggest and create new innovative solutions, features and elements.
• Attend (and sometimes conduct) meetings with specialists and fellow designers.
• Apply your skills within sketching, computer-modelling, and visualization.
• Illustrate and share your findings and results with management and other stakeholders.
  

Your profile

You are a designer, architect or scenographer with a well-developed process and a strong set of skills. You have a creative mindset and a holistic approach, and you can deliver innovative, yet feasible concepts within your field.

You hold a degree in Landscape Architecture or similar. You are a team player with an ambition to learn and develop new skills. You are sociable and helpful with a can-do attitude and a positive outlook.

You feel completely at ease with approaching things from "the big picture" angle, painting with broad strokes - understanding, analyzing and interpreting user behavior and patterns. You can help envision how this can be formed into spaces, objects, and interactions on a scale where form, material and textures are sensed and experienced.

You are familiar with the trends and movements in which nature, climate and sustainability are in focus when designing public spaces, and like us, you are driven by the impact that a well-designed space offers people of all ages and abilities.

You are experienced in creating your solutions with programs like AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe etc., and you are willing to add new tools to your list. Additionally you’re inspired by the possibility of working with new materials, technologies, and insights.
