Because of an increased demand for our innovative and intelligent solutions worldwide, we are looking for a Data Scientist to join our Analytics team.

With direct reference to our Head of Analytics, you will become part of our Data Science group in Analytics (part of the Technology R&D group) where you will work closely together with other data scientists and highly skilled software developers (both in Denmark and Spain) and UX designers. The Analytics team is a highly agile team utilizing that innovates closely together with our utility clients. Our mission is to develop intelligent solutions that will enable our utility clients to make decisions based on insights from data.

As our new Data Scientist your purpose is to lead and experiment with data towards new innovative solutions that utilizes the value hidden in data from meters and grid sensors. On a daily basis you will have direct contact to customers, business analysist, UX designers and hardware developers. You will be leading proof of concept projects and collaborate with our software development team who delivers the final commercial solution.

More specifically you will be responsible for:

  • Framing new ideas for data analytics based on dialogue with internal and external stakeholders
  • Leading PoC projects together with customers
  • Designing and developing algorithms for customer facing products

You can expect around 15-20 travel days per year.

Personality matters
You hold a degree within natural sciences, engineering, economics, computer science or similar. What we are looking for is a background with a sufficient amount of structured analytical thinking, data crunching, modelling, coding and statistics. You have 3-5 years of experience from a similar position. In addition it is a requirement that you have experience with the following:

  • Machine learning – e.g. from forecasting, optimisation, recommender systems or predictive maintenance
  • Coding in python or R
  • Collaborative coding using e.g. git
  • Data extraction and wrangling

Moreover, it will be considered an advantage if you have experience with one or more of the following:

  • Building data visualisation applications for prototypes and PoC’s using Shiny or dash
  • Containerisation using e.g. Kubernetes
  • Collaboration with software development teams
  • Linux or Unix

As you will have a key role in framing new intelligent solutions for our utility customers, it will be a strong advantage if you have a solid knowledge about the utility industry or knowledge of flow dynamics, hydraulic modelling etc. which will help you to explore and understand how a supply grid works.

The role requires frequent interaction with people in different roles and of different backgrounds both inside the organization and with many of our customers. For this reason your ability to collaborate, communicate and understand the customer’s needs are important. As we work on both new challenges and improvements to existing one, you must able and willing to stay up-to-date with technologies and techniques, apply a structured approach to your work and see it as a welcomed challenge to creatively crack problems.

It is a requirement that you speak and write English fluently.
