Do you dream of leading the research track in our growing portfolio of innovative media components? Do you have significant experience with cell culture and protein expression and thrive in the vibrant collaboration between R&D and Business Development? Then you might be our new senior scientist in R&D Research at Novo Nordisk Pharmatech in Køge. The position We offer an exciting position where you will have a key position in our research within media components to improve cell culture by exploring new components for cell culture media. This includes: Establishing a cell-culture laboratory at Novo Nordisk Pharmatech with main focus on mammalian cells. Researching new scientific opportunities within media components. Optimizing cell cultivation media and testing growth factors/media components for culture media to ensure efficient growth and expression. Engaging in scientific discussions with scientists and cooperating with laboratory technicians and the team to achieve the identified goals within the project. Design of experiments for media optimizations. Leading junior scientists and laboratory technicians in their daily experimental work. Supporting the customers, partners, Strategic Marketing, the R&D Manufacturing Development team as well as other relevant teams at NNPR with scientific data Qualifications The ideal candidate for this position has a strong scientific background and holds a PhD within biochemistry, molecular biology, cell biology or another related field. Additionally, you have the following qualifications: A minimum of 10 years of hands-on experience with cell culture and media components for cell culture, preferably within biopharma. Proven track-record of experience with quantitative cell-based methods (FACS and other immunofluorescence-based methods), protein expression, development of methods within cell biology and assay development Experience in with stem cells, preferably pluripotent, will be considered a plus. Full proficiency in English. On the personal level, you are a strong team player, stay focused and are detail oriented. You are self-driven and can manage your own time to a high level of independency. You have a strong quality mindset, a positive and encouraging can-do attitude, and a will to take on difficult challenges. You are innovative, curiosity driven and value the power of co-creation and knowledge sharing. About the department As scientist in R&D Research you will be part of the innovation of new products. The department consist of 17 highly motivated and skilled scientists and laboratory technicians, divided into two teams. Our research focus on products for protein modification, purification and media components for cell expression. We work closely with R&D Manufacturing Development and the Strategic Marketing as well as several close collaborators at Novo Nordisk and within Academia.
