Are you an experienced scientific leader in mass-spectrometry (MS)-based proteomics/peptidomics looking for your next challenge? Novo Nordisk is seeking a strategic thinker to lead our to-be-established MS Proteomics department. Apply now! The position As our Director MS Proteomics, you will lead the MS Proteomics department in line with the Novo Nordisk way and report into the Vice President (VP) of Translational Research.You will develop and execute functional strategy for MS Proteomics department thereby ensuring scientific excellence in methods & technologies applied in the departmentYou will establish and maintain a strong internal and external talent pipeline in the field of MS-based proteomics/peptidomics and foster internal collaborations with other areas that host MS-based proteomics/peptidomics, quantitative LC-MS proteomics, or qualitative/semi-quantitative proteomics (e.g., SomaLogic, Olink) and external collaborations with key opinion leaders in the fieldAs member of Translational Research Leadership Team, you will contribute to developing and executing our Translational Research strategy. Qualifications You hold PhD or master’s degree in a discipline relevant to pharma R&D and have at least 8 years of experience in pharma R&D, biotechnology industry, or academia. In addition, we expect you to have: At least 5 years of experience applying MS-based proteomics/peptidomics and At least 5 years of leadership experience, whether direct or indirect Experience in establishing strategic collaborations with external partners and integrating external innovation into internal projects Experience in developing & implementing functional strategies The ideal candidate should demonstrate the ability to communicate clearly and effectively with stakeholders at all levels across Novo Nordisk, including the executive vice president (EVP) management team. About the department The MS Proteomics department will be newly established in the Translational Research VP area as soon as the Director MS Proteomics position is filled. Currently, the MS Proteomics group is part of the Biomarker Identification department in Translational Research and consists of 6 scientists & technicians – further growth is anticipated. In Translational Research, we are a commitment to identifying biomarkers and generating high-quality biomarker data to guide decision-making in research & development. Translational Research is part of Global Translation, an organisational area responsible for the application of translational methodologies across all the therapy areas in Novo Nordisk. Our ambitious goal is to ensure early, data-driven decision-making in clinical trials by application of biomarkers of target engagement, proof-of-mechanism, and precision medicine.
