The position As a Sample Management Lead, you will have the opportunity to define and implement sample management across research workflows in a global organization. You will play a crucial role in driving the implementation of new automation and digitalization initiatives that will ultimately make a difference for patients with unmet medical needs.The responsibility includes knowledge of sample and data requirements related to the dynamic needs of the individual projects. Furthermore, you will be responsible for the storage and logistics of the library of research compounds. You will work in close collaboration with business owners for the individual work processes and in alliance with data scientists.Your responsibilities will include: Setting new ambitions for sample flow in a global research organization. Defining opportunities and driving activities for expansion and implementation of next-level automation and digitalization of sample management in collaboration with colleagues in research. Managing and leading the daily work of the inventory system in collaboration with a team of highly qualified colleagues securing both in and out of storage. Being overall responsible for the equipment and its maintenance including a close collaboration with vendors and technical staff. Qualifications To be successful in this role, we are looking for a candidate with the following qualifications: Relevant university degree preferably in engineering or life science. Experience in driving cross-functional and global collaborations in a complex organizational setting. Experience from the pharmaceutical industry working with workflow processes within research. Profound knowledge of automation and digitalization Experience with inventory and sample management systems is considered an advantage. Proficiency in English, both written and spoken. As a person, you are curious and open-minded to new ideas, people, and challenges. You have excellent communication skills and are good at engaging stakeholders in a cross-functional, multi-disciplinary setting. You are a good team player, who consistently engages in constructive collaborations and values knowledge sharing with fellow scientists and laboratory technicians. Your passion and ability to impact inspire those around you. About the department The Sample Management Lead position is part of the Formulation & Delivery department. We are dedicated to ensuring compound management of all compounds invented in research. Utilizing advanced robotic technologies, we achieve quality in what we deliver. Our department is responsible for three large robotic freezers for short- or long-term storage. Additionally, we deliver formulations of all molecular modalities for preclinical in vivo and in vitro studies across all therapeutic areas. We are part of the Biophysics and Formulation unit, which is responsible for biophysical screening and early injectable and oral formulation development of peptides, proteins, and other modalities across the entire Novo Nordisk research portfolio.
