As a laboratory technician in Purification Research 2, your primary responsibilities will be: Ensuring delivery of recombinant peptides and proteins for research projects aimed at identifying lead candidates for clinical development. Collaborating with departmental scientists and laboratory technicians to establish efficient laboratory-scale purification methods. Delivering purified peptides and proteins using advanced chromatography systems, membrane technology, liquid handlers, and analytical equipment.
A crucial aspect of the role will involve reporting and documenting your work and results in our electronic lab book systems, as well as overseeing the operation and maintenance of certain equipment in the department.
Depending on your level of experience, you will be expected to work independently hands-on in the laboratory, while also learning from other members of the department. The level of the position will be determined by your competencies and prior experience.
Qualifications
You should have a background as Laboratory Technician or equivalent, along with several years of experience in protein and peptide purification within pharmaceutical research. To excel in this role, we imagine that you possess the following: Experience with preparative column chromatography. Hands-on experience with ÄKTA purification systems and Unicorn control software. Experience with basic analytical methods including SE-UPLC/RP-UPLC/LC-MS and data analysis. Previous experience with various molecular formats is considered advantageous. Capability to tackle digital challenges, systems, and software with a mindset oriented towards continuous improvement. On a personal level, you should be an inclusive team-player with the ability to communicate clearly and precisely with colleagues and stakeholders. You should also have a curious and self-driven personality, maintaining a positive attitude towards challenges, and thriving in an informal and highly dynamic working environment. About the department
Purification Research 2 is one of two purification departments in Bioprocess Research. We are involved in early-stage research projects by delivering purified proteins and peptides from recombinant expressions, aiding in lead molecule development and selecting lead candidates for clinical development. Our responsibilities include purifying challenging proteins, conducting automated purifications, and customizing purifications in varying quantities ranging from milligrams to grams scale. We also support cell line development and establish the initial purification processes to bring forward to CMC for clinical development. Bioprocess Research is part of Recombinant Drug Research, collaborating to discover and progress therapeutic candidates. We value open communication and encourage knowledge sharing among team members. Creativity is at the core of our problem-solving approach, allowing us to tackle challenges with fresh perspectives.
