We are searching for a development manager for Static & Market Data
This position is based at our friendly office in Roskilde, Denmark and you will join our Static & Market Data team in Wealth Management and Trading. The Static & Market Data team is in charge of sourcing, transformation and distribution of a broad range of data both for the Wealth Management & Trading domain, and to bec as a whole.
The development manager position offers a key leadership position in a high priority and important domain in bec. Our domain is starting out on a business and technology transformation path, where you will be able to join from the beginning and help shape your own plan and vision for the future. But you will not be alone, as you will be leading a team of colleagues with heavy domain knowledge and a number of years’ experience in bec. At bec, we prefer to collaborate often in the office, but we also keep the opportunity to work remotely.
Your direct manager will be Development Director Jonas Toppenberg.

Your direct manager will be Development Director Jonas Toppenberg.
Primary task and responsibilities include:
- Leading and shaping a development team of 12 dedicated software engineers and business analysts in Roskilde and Herning in Denmark and Warsaw in Poland delivering solutions to the rest of bec and our customers
- Setting up and maintaining delivery strategy and team organization to effectively deliver on the team’s backlog in becs agile delivery model
- Responsibility for maintenance and operation of systems owned by the team (system ownership), including incident and problem management, system lifecycle management etc.
- Working closely with product owner, product manager, release trains engineer and domain architect to ensure that bec delivers on the right things and in the right way
- Working closely with the development manager team and the development director to help shape the future of the Wealth Management and Trading domain
- This position is in Roskilde Denmark – occasional travel to Warsaw and Herning should be expected
To succeed you will have:
- Solid experience in leading a development team of 8 – 15 people
- A growth mindset with focus not only on solving problem here and now, but an ability to set an agenda for where you want your team and systems to be in the future
- A strong enough technical insight into cloud-based technologies, DevOps, and system architecture, to work with your team architect on setting an agenda for modernization
- A foundational knowledge within more mature technologies such as Cobol, C++ and DB2
- An ability to both serve and challenge your team by setting a vision and removing obstacles to achieving it
- A mindset inherently focused on getting things done
- An ability to work with teams across borders and cultures
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or similar, or alternatively holding a degree or previous position where similar technological insight has been gained
- An ability to find a way through a complex setup while keeping focus on the target
- Well-developed communication skills in both Danish and English
- A people mindset where you encourage growth and teamwork
It’s nice-to-have:
- Knowledge within Financial Services and especially Wealth Management is an advantage but not a requirement
