We are currently hiring for a position that promises a dynamic and rewarding experience at a leading global healthcare company such as Novo Nordisk. As a Senior Safety Surveillance Adviser, you will together with other colleagues be responsible for the ongoing safety surveillance of products in clinical development/early post-marketing stage within diabetes treatment.
Key responsibilities include: Perform critical analysis and medical evaluation of the emerging aggregate safety data received from clinical trials sites or from patients or prescribers
Conduct signal detection and manage related activities
Participate in preparation of communication about the benefit risk assessment (e.g. via Periodic Safety Update Reports, Development Safety Update Reports and Risk Management Plans)
Contribute to development of clinical study protocols and clinical study reports
Represent Safety Surveillance in cross-functional teams
You will get the opportunity both to work independently and in collaboration with a team of highly skilled, committed, and enthusiastic colleagues. Assuming responsibility, communicating information and taking action will be essential parts of your workday. You will have a close collaboration and interaction with other functional areas in Novo Nordisk such as Clinical Development and Regulatory Affairs and it will give you an extensive insight to the whole Novo Nordisk organisation. This is a temporary 12-month cover from Sept 2023 to Aug 2024.
Qualifications As an ideal candidate, you have: A master’s degree in Life Sciences (e.g. Pharmacy, Medicine, Veterinary or Biological); preferably complemented by a PhD
Several years of experience within drug safety/pharmacovigilance or drug development
Good understanding of medical concepts, disease processes, scientific methodology and data analysis
Strong IT skills and knowledge of computer systems
Proficiency in English both written and spoken

About the department
Safety Surveillance is a department within Global Safety and is situated in Søborg, Denmark. We also have a department in Bangalore, India. We are globally responsible for surveillance of all safety information for Novo Nordisk’s products that are currently marketed or under development. Our team Safety Surveillance Insulin focuses on monitoring and ensuring the safety of insulin products under development. We collaborate with stakeholders across the diabetes therapy area. The department consists of great employees with diverse educational backgrounds and broad international representation.
