The position As our Senior Director for Medical and Science, Devices & Digital Health, you will take on the role of the department manager for a team consisting of approximately 16 medical and scientific experts within assigned medical device projects. As such you will be responsible for:

Continuous development of team members: performance management, task prioritization, supporting individuals to improve their current performance and future potential through providing coaching and development opportunities, and recruiting.

Maintaining processes and ensuring compliance of department and deliverables with external and internal requirements.

Representing the department in the Corporate Vice President’s leadership team (Medical Science Innovation).

As Senior Director you will contribute to device development and clinical development projects by providing medical guidance on device benefits and risks as well as providing input to key documents related to conceptualization, design, and development of medical devices. You will participate in establishing clinical development programs, planning individual clinical trials, and other evidence-generation strategies, and conducting Clinical Evaluations of medical devices. The position will require up to 10% travel. You should be willing to move to Denmark and work in an international arena. Novo Nordisk will support you and your family with the relocation. Qualifications To thrive and succeed, we expect you to have:

University degree as a Medical Doctor with documented research experience from a Ph.D. and clinical practice.

At least 3+ years of experience in clinical drug development in the pharma industry and a solid understanding of the drug development space is a must.

Solid experience setting direction, leading, motivating, and developing team members.

Documented experience with medical devices, or SaMD development would be an advantage.

You can set direction, lead, and motivate your team and have a strong wish to invest in the personal development of your team members. As a person, you enjoy a setting with a high level of complexity and have solid problem-solving capabilities. You have excellent collaboration and communication skills and are fluent in professional English. About the department The department (Medical & Science Devices & Digital Health) has the medical responsibility over the growing portfolio of medical devices in Novo Nordisk. This includes drug delivery devices, such as pen injectors, devices with connectivity features, novel technology platforms supporting the administration and use of new treatments (e.g., stem cells), injection needles, and software classified as a medical device (SaMD). The responsibility of the department covers the entire device lifecycle from early research to post-approval life-cycle management. Besides we are involved in external collaboration projects within decentralised clinical trials. The team works in a highly cross-organizational fashion, typically at the interface between drug and device development. Interactions involve a multitude of internal stakeholders with diverse backgrounds including device R&D, Clinical Reporting, Commercial, Clinical Operations, Marketing, and Regulatory Affairs.
