Work with state-of-the art technologies
As Principal Hardware Platform Architect for hearing instrument solutions, you will be working with state-of-the art technologies and play an important role in specifying and architecting our future platforms in close collaboration with stakeholders across R&D and NPI. Your primary tasks will be:
What you bring
We expect you to have a relevant education background on either B.Sc. or M.Sc. level combined with a substantial practical knowledge of architecting, developing, and integrating embedded electro-mechanical systems for a regulated industry, preferably medical devices. Familiarity with FDA and MDD/MDR regulations will give you a head start.
A background within electronics combined with broad knowledge within mechanics and acoustics as well as working experience with architecting is mandatory. Your holistic view and ability to dive into details enable you to challenge developers and stakeholders identifying competitive solutions.
Experience with model-based systems engineering/architecting to communicate structure, behavior and interfaces for optimal implementation and stakeholders’ alignment is also mandatory. It’s important that you have an intrinsic motivation for the latest industry development in terms of architecture and have ability to leverage from professional networks – like INCOSE - to foster innovation and best practice.
You have applied knowledge in tailoring supply and acquisition process per ISO15288 to outsource product development to coordinate outsourcing partnerships with internal development projects. You have extensive experience providing technical leadership and apply critical thinking to guide internal or outsourced hardware technology and platform development.
Having experience working according to the SAFe® framework will also be an advantage.

Work with state-of-the art technologies
As Principal Hardware Platform Architect for hearing instrument solutions, you will be working with state-of-the art technologies and play an important role in specifying and architecting our future platforms in close collaboration with stakeholders across R&D and NPI. Your primary tasks will be:
- Identify stakeholder needs, functional and non-functional requirements of the hardware platform to ensure all phases of the product lifecycle is addressed
- Establish hardware platform architectures to structure an analytical framework for effectively evaluate technical alternatives
- Drive technical feasibility studies, tradeoff analysis and conclude on technology decisions
- Define technology evolutions of HW platform architectures in accordance with agreed roadmaps and business needs
- Communicate agreed hardware platform architectures, interfaces, and associated requirements to relevant stakeholders - including the use of modelling to advance technical understanding and support decision making
- Provide coordination, technical leadership and critical thinking to guide hardware technology and platform development done internally or by outsourced partners
- Develop a common understanding of the supply-acquisition process to nurture an effective collaboration and transfer of information between the internal stakeholders and the outsourced partners
