Job Description
We invite you to bring your legal and commercial knowledge of engineering and consultancy industry into play as you take on a key role in strengthening our legal support to Ramboll globally. To succeed in this role you must have a comprehensive experience in in-house legal services across Asia-Pacific, UK, Middle East and Central Europe, in particular proven skills in claims handling and commercial support to fee disputes. You will need a strong stakeholder management and collaboration skills dealing with country and market leadership across various jurisdictions. As our new Legal and Commercial Advisor / Claims Handler, you will be part of a Global Legal team, responsible for legal support in MEAP and Central Europe (Legal Hub), business partnering with Markets, Legal Centres of Excellence and legal processes and initiatives under the responsibility of Head of Global Legal Operations. On occasions, you might be supporting other legal teams within Ramboll.

You will join our Global Legal department
As our new Legal and Commercial Advisor / Claims Handler, you will be part of a Global Legal team, responsible for legal support in MEAP and Central Europe (Legal Hub), business partnering with Markets, Legal Centres of Excellence and legal processes and initiatives under the responsibility of Head of Global Legal Operations. On occasions, you might be supporting other legal teams within Ramboll.
Your key tasks and responsibilities will be:
- Risk Management: Claims Handling and Fee Recovery advice
- Manage claims arising within the company including draft notifications, general claims handling and liaising with brokers, external solicitors and other advisors.
- Advise project directors and project managers on risks related to potential claims, incidents and related project queries; prepare or review the claim response to the clients
- Advise project directors and project managers and the Finance team on handling debts and fee recovery; prepare demand letters and/or referrals
- Prepare reports from the database
- Contribute the best practice in the Legal Competence Network for the above or directly support disputes in other jurisdictions.
- Participate in reviews, redlining and business advice on contractual risks in covered jurisdictions, focusing on projects with higher complexity or global frameworks
- Training
- Promote knowledge and understanding of the basic problems in consultancy contracts across the business
- Assist in development and updates of the company training modules related to legal and commercial matters.
- Provide training to other Legal Team members if required.

- Legal education with significant in-house legal experience in consultancy and engineering sector, supporting contracts, disputes and general commercial queries.
- Proven track record of contentious work, supporting disputes and claim in the Middle East, APAC, Central Europe and UK.
- Deep understanding of engineering and consultancy business, covering all markets and countries Ramboll operates within APAC, Middle East and Central Europe.
- Strong stakeholder management and collaboration skills with proven record of regular dealings with leadership or commercial directors.
Personal qualities that will help you succeed in this role include:
- Agility and pragmatic approach to balance commercial and legal risks,
- Interpersonal skills to support a wide variety of stakeholder needs,
- Team player and good communicator, enjoying working with teams located worldwide,
- Proactive and structured with strong planning and project management skills, able to independently lead selected long term tasks.
