About the DTU Novo Nordisk PhD Program
The PhD Program is a new strategic partnership between the DTU and Novo Nordisk. Novo Nordisk aims to invest into AP (Aseptic Production) and CMC (Chemistry, Manufacturing and Control Development) technologies to enhance automation and digitalisation and move towards a more robust drug product design and automated product and process control.
This collaboration program aims to build on mutual synergies between DTU and Novo Nordisk to develop future life science talents. PhD students will work on cutting edge multidisciplinary research for Novo Nordisk pharmaceutical CMC and AP. Scientific insights from various disciplines like chemistry, mechanics, automation, and data analytics will contribute to the success of the research program.
The PhD Program is still in the developing phase. The first six students will be joining in September 2023 and in the coming years the cohort is expected to grow to 18 PhD students.
The position
As Senior Program Manager for our DTU Novo Nordisk PhD program, you will have the overall responsibility for driving the PhD Program. This new position is a strategic role contributing to the future of our global production network.
Novo Nordisk is looking for an experienced program manager to frame the DTU Novo Nordisk collaboration and the future program, set strategic direction, establish roles and responsibility, and drive the program with DTU and Novo Nordisk stakeholders.
Other tasks will include: Coordinate and foster collaborating between stakeholders from different research areas. Drive external and internal communication, organise program related events. Report program progress and prepare decisions for management. Ensure pipeline of research questions and establish review process. Drive PhD student recruiting, develop student cohort and onboarding program.

Qualifications A degree in Engineering, Business, Pharmaceutical Science, Economics or similar. If you have a PhD this is advantageous. Experienced Program Manager with strong proven track record of working within project management/ coordination and/or business support which may include line management. Good communication skills are a must, including the ability to target your communication at a broad set of stakeholders at all organisational levels. It is advantageous if your experience is within pharmaceuticals or other highly regulated industries, CMC or AP competencies are not a prerequisite.
As a professional, you can lead, set direction, and have a holistic outlook to make decisions for the program to achieve its goals and objectives and able to quickly build strong working relationships to drive this across the organisation.
Furthermore, you are a strong motivator, coordinator, have a curious mind and a drive to set and reach ambitious targets on new ground. With a structured approach to your work, you can juggle several tasks while prioritising your efforts optimally by keeping the bigger picture in mind. For this position, you are required to be fluent in spoken and written English.
