If so, join us as our new Student Assistant in the Manufacturing 1 (M1) Bioprocess Improvement -Optimization (M1BIO) department at Novo Nordisk and embrace the opportunity to work alongside with experienced colleagues. The position Your main tasks will vary and will be applied to challenges within M1 by applying multiscale modelling, such as mathematical programming (MILP) for supply chain analysis, capacity planning, production planning, and scheduling. Your three main focuses are included, but not limited to:
  • Formulation and development of production planning and scheduling models
  • Generation of optimal production plans considering a wide range of restrictions and possibilities
  • Evaluation of impacts and suggestion a course of action when introducing factors such as shutdowns, projects, or new products in the facilities
    • Since this is a student position, you will have the opportunity to learn how to develop and apply R&D-based concepts into a real-world application, using knowledge that you have, and will acquire, from an academic degree. You will gain experience of working in a global company, and manufacturing environment. Additionally, you will learn how data can be utilized with the current trend of Industry 4.0. And finally, you will be a part of an organization that values creativity, innovation, and the ability to work with people from different backgrounds. Qualifications You are currently a Master’s degree student in the field of Industrial Engineering and Management, Business Analytics, Mathematical Modelling and/or Chemical Engineering at University in Denmark. To succeed in this role, you will need to have:
  • Understanding of mathematical programming (python, pyomo, CPLEX or similar)
  • Ability to solve complex problems
  • Great communication skills
  • Fluency in both spoken and written English
    • You are a person who enjoys applying a systems approach to manage complexity, and arriving at solutions that can be applied in an industrial manufacturing supply chain. About the department You will be a part of the Novo Nordisk Product Supply, Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (PS API) and assigned to Manufacturing 1 (M1), the world’s largest Insulin Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API) manufacturing facility located in Kalundborg. You will be joining a group of eight highly skilled colleagues and MSc students all working with advanced process of modelling, simulation, analysis, control, and optimization for representation of (bio-)chemical digital twins and the pharmaceutical supply chain.
