When you join the Trade Flow Insights and Economics team, you will become part of a team that excels for the quality of output, at a truly global company undergoing an exciting transformation.
This position is a temporary paternity leave cover, and we strive to have the right candidate employed around April 2024. The contract will run until around January 2025.
New opportunities may arise during the employment and there may be a possibility of a permanent employment after the temporary position ends. This cannot be guaranteed in advance.
Key responsibilities
The purpose of this role is to monitor the macroeconomic and trade outlook for selected regions and deliver impactful and comprehensive economic analysis on an ongoing basis, as well as outlining all relevant scenarios, sensitivities, and risks, with moderate degree of complexity.
Furthermore, your key responsibilities will be:
- Contribute to quarterly forecasts by preparing relevant output communicating effectively the results of analysis and forecasting, clearly demonstrating underlying issues, key driving factors, potential outcomes, output sensitivities, risk profiles, etc.
- Assists other team members in specific projects and develop research on hot topics
- Contribute to the economic analysis of investment cases
- Contribute to team’s output, such as power point decks, internal and external reports
- Present findings to internal stakeholders across different functions
Who we are looking for
The ideal candidate for this role is someone who:
- Has a well-equipped toolbox with econometric skills
- Enjoys pulling together a holistic picture based on data
- Has attention to details
- Has the ability to structure complex questions and to work with ambiguous topics
- Has a can-do attitude, a natural curiosity, and the ability to learn fast and gather knowledge
- Has a master’s degree in economics, knowledge and passion about macroeconomics and trade
Excellent communication skills and experience in presenting complexities in compelling and clear terms is an advantage, as well as advanced econometric skills and ability to use Python.
Fluency in spoken and written English is a requirement.
