All in all, we are about 60 engineers and technicians in our Electronics Group. Our main goal is to develop the electronics solutions for all Demant’s hearing aids and accessories. We have a close collaboration with our Chipset Group, which develops the company’s proprietary ICs. Our team integrates the ICs and other components onto very small PCBs. We, furthermore, use technologies like Bluetooth & NFMI antennas, acoustical & magnetic transducers, and rechargeable batteries to finally put the entire hearing aid system together.
In the RF & Antenna group, we integrate the electronic circuitry and develop the antennas for our 2.4GHz Bluetooth Low Energy connectivity system.
Joining us, you will be involved in all development steps from initial product specification to design and verification and in the end, handover for mass-production. Designing small size products with great performance is the key driver for our success and the limited space and high integration level makes this a very challenging, yet motivating task. Your main responsibilities will be:
• To integrate ICs and other key components onto PCBs with size, challenging requirements, and RF performance in mind
• To evaluate the performance of the system and be proactive in improving the system performance even more
• To verify electrical performance against challenging requirements, e.g., RF output power, receiver sensitivity, signal integrity, wireless link quality etc. in relevant use cases
• Participate in cost saving and maintenance tasks for in-market products
• To document own work by means of e.g., design specifications, test specifications and measurement reports
• To support the prototype builds including electrical test specification
We expect you to hold an M.Sc. or B.Sc. in Electronics Engineering and that you have some years of experience within integration of Bluetooth radios or other RF technologies. You will be required to work within your own technical area and at the same time maintain an overview, enabling you to see the big picture. To become successful in the position, you shall be able to tick off most of below areas:
• Well-founded general theoretical knowledge about microwave RF design.
• Experience in designing systems that includes multiple devices and radios. Being able to understand your part’s contribution to the system performance and user experience.
• Experience in making system, circuit, or EM simulations.
• Experience in practical RF-lab work: E.g., using a network and spectrum analyzer, verifying specific radio performance parameters Rx/Tx, frequency synthesis. If you are familiar with Bluetooth Low Energy, it will be an advantage.
• Knowledge of applicable regulatory requirements, preferably for medical equipment.
Furthermore, you are a team player and appreciate working in an international environment at a high pace where two days are rarely alike. You show a high level of personal commitment to ensure your tasks are in progress and you take an analytical and systematical approach to complex problem solving. You know how to work according to established quality processes and have a good documentation practice. As we are a medical device regulated company, adhering to standard procedures for carrying out development work and verification, is a given. We are currently in the process of implementing SAFe throughout R&D, therefore it would be an advantage if you have knowledge or prior experience with agile methodologies.
