Are you a creative and innovative mechanical engineer with an interest for transforming ideas into groundbreaking dental devices? Do you thrive working in the front end of innovation, where uncertainty is the norm while user needs, and technology are defined? If so, we would like to invite you to join our new Discovery team. A team where we use our innovation skills to change dentistry.As part of the core Discovery team, you will work closely together with engineers of other disciplines, user researchers, discovery managers, and product managers. Together, we identify new product opportunities and develop concepts until they have a high degree of technical and commercial confidence. In the end, we make sure that they are transferred into product development. Therefore, you should have an open mindset and like to work with a holistic view.Your main responsibilities as a mechanical engineer in the discovery team will be:
  • Innovative Problem-Solving: Utilize your engineering knowledge and your creativity to develop ideas for new devices to help dentists to improve patient’s lives. Be on forefront where technology and medical science intersect.
  • Mechanical Engineering: Develop complex mechanical designs, select suitable materials etc. to deliver optimal and innovative solutions.
  • Prototyping: Bring the vision to life by creating physical models for demonstration and testing.
  • Testing and Analysis: Conduct comprehensive mechanical and functionality tests on prototypes, simulate real-world conditions, and identify opportunities for device improvement.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Help build and maintain positive relationships with our development teams. Your ability to collaborate and communicate effectively will ensure a seamless and successful transition of concepts from Discovery to Development.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay engaged with our end-users, gathering feedback, and integrating this into our designs for the continuous improvement of our devices.
    • We expect you to have:
  • Master’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience. Preferably within device development.
  • Great problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and effective communication skills.
  • Enthusiasm for healthcare innovation and improving patient lives.
  • Proficiency in parametric 3D CAD systems. We use Solid Works.
  • Knowledge of, requirement engineering, product quality tests, material selection, robust design principles, etc.
  • Aptitude to see the greater picture and recognize the need for prioritization when directions change.
  • Have experience working in cross disciplinary teams where product innovation is delivered in the cross-section of disciplines.
