For an introduction to our area - CMC API Pilots - please visit our career page The position As Senior Director for CPP you will be responsible for the d epartment, which currently consists of around 85 employees divided into 6 teams. However, the department does have a need for expansion going forward. There is close collaboration with our key stakeholders in Quality, Process Development and Technical Support to ensure successful delivery of the API necessary for fuelling the development pipeline in Novo Nordisk. You will report to the Corporate Vice President for CMC API Pilots Uffe Larsen and can look forward to being part of a well-established management group where empowerment, teamwork and a can-do approach are dominant values. Qualifications We are looking for an experienced and robust Senior Director with a scientific education in a relevant field such as engineering, life sciences, or a similar discipline. To succeed in this role, you are/have: a strong leader demonstrating empathy and authenticity in your day-to-day leadership. experience with leading other leaders. substantial experience in leading big teams, preferably within API Production or other pharma supply disciplines for a minimum of 5 years. a high degree of business and industry insight, and a solid experience in setting the direction and developing and driving the strategy for your area. passion for driving performance and managing a high level of complexity in a large area through a structural approach. a strong quality mindset. an excellent communicator and fluent in English. About the department CMC API Pilot is part of CMC (Chemistry, Manufacturing & Control) Development & Scaling manufactures and controls new drug substance candidates for the development portfolio at Novo Nordisk. As part of CMC API Pilots, Cultivation Pilot Plant, cultivates and purifies proteins and peptides, for use in clinical and non-clinical trials. The department consists of two separate production facilities with four production lines in total and a new facility to come in 2024. In CPP we work with various technologies and equipment depending on whether the cultivation is based on yeast, E. coli or mammalian cells, and on how the recovery process is designed (i.e., centrifugation, filtration, chromatography etc.).
