Are you at the early stage of your financial career seeking inroads within the portfolio management industry?

Saxo offers portfolio management to private clients globally via its two services SaxoWealthCare and SaxoSelect. In addition, Saxo provides a portfolio implementation service to other portfolio managers via its Independent Asset Management (IAM) service.

As our new Portfolio Implementation Manager (PIM), you will be a key person at the center of the daily investment process for both our direct portfolio management business and also the portfolio implementation service for external portfolio managers.

For the right candidate the role offers an exciting opportunity to enter a growing segment of Saxo's business, contribute towards a sophisticated investment service and join a high caliber, dynamic and enthusiastic team. The position is a new role and the successful candidate will be supported by the team to become self sustained in their function.

Your responsibilities will be, but are not limited to:

The PIM takes the important role of ensuring investors’ portfolios are exposed correctly according to their mandate. For this, the function will work closely with other members of the investment team, trading desk and front office tech members who own systems.

The position requires a sharp eye for identifying problematic situations within the portfolio management service, an organized mindset for establishing and maintaining robust processes and also to be comfortable with conducting stakeholder management with various departments across the organisation.

Oversea Portfolio Exposures

Everyday the PIM is responsible for reviewing the automated portfolio management decisions and is at the center of problem solving any investment exposure issues (if any). The PIM should engage with appropriate stakeholders on the trading desk, tech and also commerical side for identifying and solving client exposure issues. Examples of oversight include identifying any asset allocation breaches, risk profile misalignment and erroneous investment decisions created due to bad data.

Ensure well defined processes to meet SLAs and KPIs

Saxo has critical processes and KPIs to meet. The PIM is the key person to ensure that Saxo is meeting its portfolio management KPIs towards other entities and partners. The PIM should take ownership of the creation of monitoring and oversight processes and corresponding documentation. Such KPIs include maintaining client exposure incidents and their financial impact to a minimum.

Review investment decision turn into correct trades

Another core part of the function is to ensure investment decisions turn into correct trade orders which are handled by the electronic trading desk. The PIM must oversea that the orders generated by portfolio management are correctly placed with the trading desk. For this, the PIM function is also responsible for establishing clear processes for identifying and handling trade misalignments, and to also ensure the trading desk are meeting best execution principles on behalf of the investment management service.

Client Service

Some portfolio situations either originate from client circumstances and/or require proactive communication to the client. The PIM is the source of such information on behalf of portfolio management, engaging with commerical colleagues to sufficiently inform clients of their investments and any action they must take.

About you:

  • You are a high caliber graduate with 1-3 years of relevant (not necessarily direct) experience.
  • Eager to develop your knowledge and competence to take ownership of this core function within the team.
  • Familiarity with portfolio management, front office processes and exchange traded instruments is highly advantageous.
  • Self starter, comfortable operating in a dynamic environment and ever changing market conditions.
  • Understand SQL whilst C# is nice to have.
  • Analytical, investigative and naturally inclined to create structure.
  • Comfortable with documenting control functions and work processes and work instructions.
