The position As Category Manager, you will be responsible for managing several contract manufacturers (CMO) who supply customized materials needed to manufacture Novo Nordisk's products. You will drive the commercial and sustainability agenda and act as a sourcing and manufacturing partner to our internal customers. One of your key tasks will be to identify and execute sourcing initiatives (e.g. selection of CMO) to ensure robust supply chains for new and existing products. You will need to balance risk and business impact to secure supply at the best commercial terms for the long run, while also managing CMO relationships, budget, risk mitigation, price/contract negotiations, and identifying optimization opportunities. You will also play an essential role in our SCOPE 3 sustainability efforts, engaging your CMOs in this journey. To succeed in this role, you will need to establish effective relationships with our CMOs as well as many internal stakeholders. Your responsibility is for the global supply, therefore your stakeholders will be located all around the globe. You should expect 15-25 days of travel activities per year. This position offers plenty of opportunities for personal and professional development. Qualifications To be considered for this position, we expect you to: Hold a Master's degree or equivalent in a relevant field (such as supply chain, procurement, business, or engineering). Have a minimum of 5 years of experience in a strategic sourcing and/or category management functions, with direct spend experience. Be familiar with developing strategies within a category, and preferably have experience in categories such as peptides, sidechains, small molecules, or similar products. Possess strong project management and analytical skills, with a solid understanding of numbers. Be fluent in both spoken and written English. As a person, you have strong stakeholder management skills and a customer-oriented mindset. You thrive and understand how to work in a multi-cultural environment and are confident when navigating within a large organization with multiple stakeholders. You can orchestrate naturally sourcing-related projects across multiple functions. People describe you as able to bring a ‘can-do attitude’, and a healthy sense of humour to your work also when under pressure. About the department Strategic Sourcing is the central sourcing unit in Novo Nordisk’s Product Supply division. We are responsible for ensuring that we have suppliers in place that can support Novo Nordisk’s worldwide pharmaceutical production. Through collaboration with our external suppliers, we ensure availability of the supply needed to develop and produce products that helps millions of people around the world. You will be part of a multi-cultural department that ensures global supply ranging from Drug Substance (e.g. Peptides, Sidechains, Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API’s), Biologics) as well as Drug Products (e.g Aseptic Production and packaging services) and you will have direct impact to Novo Nordisk’ ability to deliver our life saving product to patients.
