The position As Category Manager you will be responsible for suppliers of several Life Science chemicals used in our production. Some of your main tasks will include to: Identify and execute on sourcing initiatives to ensure the category is ready for the significant growth expected in the short to medium term. Work together with internal stakeholders and suppliers to drive the sustainability agenda, including focus on scope 3. Drive the commercial agenda and act as sourcing and manufacturing partner to our internal customers. Ensure management of supplier relations, budget, risk mitigation and price/contract negotiations while identifying optimization opportunities. It is essential that you establish effective supplier relationships and ensure the right balance between risk and business impact to secure supply at the best commercial terms. Be part of a cluster with other category managers with whom you will also collaborate, to secure that we deliver on all tasks within the cluster.
You will be working with suppliers internationally and hence you should expect 10-20 days of travel activities per year. This position holds ample opportunities for personal and professional development.
Qualifications To be considered for this position, we expect you to: Hold a Master’s degree or equivalent in. supply chain, procurement, business, engineering, or any other relevant field. Have a minimum of 5 years of experience within strategic sourcing and/or working in category management function. Be familiar with direct spend. Be fluent in English both written and spoken.
You demonstrate a customer-oriented behaviour, commercial edge and thrive in stakeholder management. Additionally, you are a skilled project manager with strong analytical skills and a solid understanding of numbers. Moreover, you are confident when navigating in a big organization and have the ability to successfully orchestrate sourcing related projects across multiple functions. As a person, you thrive and understand how to work in a multi-cultural environment, bring a ‘can-do attitude’, and a healthy sense of humour to your work also when under pressure.

Strategic Sourcing is the central sourcing unit in Novo Nordisk’s Product Supply division. We are responsible for ensuring that we have suppliers in place that can support Novo Nordisk’s worldwide pharmaceutical production. Through collaboration with our international suppliers, we ensure availability of the supply needed to develop and produce products that helps millions of people around the world to live with chronic diseases. You will be part of a multi-cultural team that ensures global supply of raw materials, primary and secondary packaging, critical production materials and life science chemicals. Joining our team, you will be surrounded by several experienced international Category Managers, allowing you to continue your development within the sourcing domain.
