We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Strategic Category Manager to join our team and lead our direct procurement initiatives. As the Strategic Category Manager, you will be responsible for developing and executing strategies to optimize our sourcing and procurement processes for raw materials used to manufacture insulin, GLP-1 and other medications. You will work closely with key stakeholders to identify and implement cost savings opportunities, improve supplier performance, secure future capacities and ensure supply chain resilience.
Responsibilities: Develop and implement sustainable procurement strategies for direct procurement categories, ensuring that our sourcing practices align with our sustainability goals and objectives Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize cost savings opportunities and develop strategies to achieve them. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize procurement processes, including supplier selection and contract negotiations. Manage supplier relationships and ensure supplier compliance with contractual obligations and ethical standards. Monitor market trends and identify potential risks and opportunities in the supply chain. Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, including manufacturing development, production sites, and quality teams, to ensure alignment and collaboration. Lead the implementation of procurement tools and technologies to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. Master's degree preferred. 5+ years of experience in strategic sourcing and category management, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment. Demonstrated experience in direct procurement of materials and services Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of procurement tools and technologies, including e-sourcing, contract management, and spend analysis. Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Knowledge of ethical and sustainable sourcing practices.

We are responsible for ensuring that we have suppliers in place that can support Novo Nordisk’s worldwide pharmaceutical production. Through collaboration with our international suppliers, we ensure availability of the supply needed to develop and produce products that helps millions of people around the world to live with chronic diseases. You will be part of a multi-cultural team that ensures global supply of raw materials, primary and secondary packaging, critical production materials and life science chemicals. Joining our team, you will be surrounded by several experienced international Category Managers, allowing you to continue your development within the sourcing domain.
