About the department The Discovery ADME department is part of the Assay, Analysis and Characterisation area within Global Research Technologies, and is responsible for LC-MS bioanalysis, drug metabolism, biomarker analysis and ADME studies in the discovery phase of our research projects. You will join a department of dedicated scientists, laboratory technicians, and research associates involved in the drug discovery phase. We are located in a state-of-the-art R&D facility in the Greater Copenhagen area. The position The research work is organised in multidisciplinary cross-functional project teams, and you will represent the department in projects as an expert within LC-MS bioanalysis and ADME. You will be responsible for developing advanced and robust LC-MS analytical methods for the bioanalysis of different molecular formats such as proteins, peptides, small molecules and oligonucleotides, as well as biomarker analysis. Additionally, you will provide expert ADME support to research projects to help guide and ensure optimisation and selection of drug candidates with the desired ADME properties. ADME contributions could be, but are not limited to, metabolic stability assays and metabolism ID. Leveraging on a strong background in LC/MS, you will be responsible for driving the development and optimisation of novel bioanalysis and ADME workflows in the department. In your daily work, you will collaborate closely with project teams, department scientists and laboratory technicians. The working environment in Global Research Technologies is dynamic and innovative and involves interactions with colleagues from global research sites at , with an excellent opportunity to establish a strong scientific network. Qualifications The ideal candidate holds a PhD in pharmaceutical sciences, analytical chemistry, chemistry, biochemistry or related disciplines with at least 5 years of experience from an industry or academic setting. The preferred qualifications include: Strong background in LC-MS/MS together with hands on experience with commonly used mass spectrometers such as high resolution and triple quadrupole instruments Experience with bioanalysis of at least one of the following molecular formats: proteins, peptides, small molecules, oligonucleotides. Knowledge of biomarkers In-depth knowledge of instrumentation used for separation/chromatography (UPLCs, 2D chromatography). The candidate may also have been working with micro/nanoflow LC-systems. Strong background in sample preparation techniques used for bioanalysis. Experience with metabolite identification and drug metabolism, and with ADME assays such as metabolic stability assays and plasma protein binding Knowledge of liquid handlers and automated workflows, as well as interest in data science and digitalisation. You should be able to communicate complex scientific procedures with technical proficiency both orally and in writing. The ability to develop innovative solutions to new challenges is also essential. You have a strong commitment to high quality analysis and data handling. Since all work takes place in the department and in multidisciplinary project groups, you are a success-oriented team player, have a collaborative mind-set, and find it easy to build relationships with team and project members.
