We are seeking an ambitious Vice President to lead our agile deliveries and our Release Train Engineers within Digital, Data & IT Development.
About the Department
In DD&IT Development, we are at the forefront of driving change in the dynamic realm of digital healthcare. Our department collaborates closely with the business to champion digital transformation and foster innovation across the entire Novo Nordisk value chain, from initial concept to patient care.
The responsibility of the DD&IT Development is additionally to orchestrate digital product delivery which enables everyday operations, and to support the digitalisation journey of Development organisation in Novo Nordisk while it runs and expands at the same time.
We accelerate digital value creation through standardised, efficient, and secure technology platforms – the foundation for everything digital in Novo Nordisk.
About the Position
As the Vice President of Agile Deliveries, you will be responsible for ensuring efficient execution of Agile deliverables and delivering digital products to Novo Nordisk's Development organisation. You head up a team of experienced Release Train Engineers (RTEs) and will collaborate closely with the management team and the RTEs to continuously improve and scale our Agile methods and tools. As part of this, you will facilitate discussions with senior stakeholders on the organisational anchoring and execution of new products. Furthermore, you will have contact with suppliers and colleagues across the Digital, Data & IT (DD&IT) organisation facilitating smooth delivery of digital products to Development. You will also act as change ambassador driving the learning culture and agile mindset in Novo Nordisk. You will be a member of the DD&IT Development leadership team and report to the Corporate Vice President.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Your primary mandate is to define and guide the strategic direction for agile deliveries supporting the digital transformation within Novo Nordisk’s Development organisation.
  • The Development organisation's reliance on DD&IT Development for efficient digital product delivery and business transformation underscores the importance of seamless collaboration. Your leadership will be instrumental in fostering strong ties between these entities. Moreover, you will cultivate and maintain a robust partnership with senior stakeholders within the Development landscape, ensuring their continued support and alignment with the SAFe Agile operating model and its inherent value.
  • Success in this role hinges on your ability to influence beyond your immediate organisational boundaries. Given the inherently cross-functional nature of Agile Release Trains (ARTs) and the complexity involved, you must excel in influencing stakeholders across multiple disciplines, functions, units, and geographical locations within the Development domain.
  • You will oversee a distinguished leadership group consisting of five senior managers. Together, you will lead a highly proficient organization comprising over 200 professionals, primarily situated in Denmark and India, with a global presence.
  • In your role as VP, you will report directly to the Corporate Vice President for DD&IT. You will serve as the face of Novo Nordisk and DD&IT in high-level interactions with key suppliers of digital products for Development. Additionally, you will represent Novo Nordisk in strategic digital partnerships, including collaborations related to in-house open-source product development.
  • In addition to the above responsibilities, you will act as the IT Business Owner within Agile Release Trains as applicable. This entails the oversight of vendor contracts, ensuring compliance with Novo Nordisk's established signature limits.
  • The position is located in Søborg, Denmark.
    Qualifications
    Are you the leader we are seeking? To excel in this pivotal role, you should possess the following qualifications:
  • You hold a master’s degree (MSc, MA, or equivalent) and potentially hold a Ph.D.
  • Your showcase substantial experience in the practical application of Agile methodologies, preferably in roles such as RTE (Release Train Engineer) and/or Agile Coach.
  • You present a compelling track record of successfully spearheading Agile transformations, with a preference for experience within the pharmaceutical industry. Alternatively, bring expertise from another international business characterized by high complexity and a regulated environment.
  • You embody the essence of an authentic leader of leaders, adept at providing direction and guidance while inspiring and motivating teams to achieve their best.
  • Excel in cultivating a dedicated, engaged, and passionate organisational culture characterized by high ambitions and a relentless drive for continuous improvement.
  • You possess a high level of empathy and exhibit strong relationship-building competencies.
  • You navigate with finesse within intricate stakeholder landscapes, fostering productive collaborations.
  • You serve as a genuine and credible role model for Agile methodologies, underpinned by significant hands-on experience and expertise within the Agile field.
